About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION to join our BB Kilpatrick team to work in Manchester.
Role Purpose :
To oversee defect rectification work on legacy projects, particularly regarding passive fire protection. Provide technical advice on live projects and tenders.
Provide fire stopping QA, audit service and design, technical and cost advice. Provide ad hoc fire stopping training. Instigate, achieve and maintain FIRAS certification for Balfour Beatty.
What you'll be doing
As a PASSIVE FIRE PROTECTION, you will have the following accountabilities :
Effectively receive, and manage all work designated in order to rectify defects identified;
Manage specialist fire-stopping subcontractors, ensuring technical details are correct and workmanship is compliant;
Ensure contractors adhere to Balfour Beatty policies for working on site, and continually monitor compliance intervening or escalating when required;
Put contractors to work as required by the Balfour Beatty procedures;
Monitor and report against programme, cost, quality and SHE requirements.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following qualities and experience :
Experienced in fire stopping / passive fire protection including the legislation, technical aspects and standards essential;
Previous experience of working within a facilities management, property, construction environment;
Good communication skills to effectively report on progress, quality, safety and financial objectives as well as liaising with subcontractors and customers as required;
Thorough knowledge of Health and Safety legislation;
