Interim Outpatients Service Manager Outpatients Department Team Management Bushey, Hertfordshire Fixed-Term Contract 3 months Highly Competitive Salary & Excellent Benefits

Spire Bushey are looking for an experienced Senior Staff Nurse or Deputy Manager to join our team as an Interim Outpatients Service Manager.

This is a 3-month FTC position with the potential to be extended to another couple of months.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To provide exemplary planned care for patients while managing more than one clinical team.
  • To ensure the teams deliver effective patient care by providing excellent clinical and managerial leadership.
  • Discuss and debate with relevant people the effectiveness, efficiency and appropriateness of services that are being provided with particular attention to risks and priorities, service issues, impact of strategies on service development and delivery.
  • Ensure that legislation, policies and procedures are correctly applied within the teams.

  • Undertake Human Resource activities for all members of the team.
  • Identify people’s health needs through observation discussion and the use of technical assessment methods, obtain informed consent prior to the commencement of the assessment.
  • Obtain information on patients’ needs within the overall context of their personal and care requirements, follow processes of reasoning which allows optimum outcomes to be achieved.

    Collect, collate and organise data, interpret all of the information and make a justifiable assessment relating to patients’ needs, promoting their wellbeing and reducing risks in the short and long term.

  • Develop a working environment and culture that actively improves health, safety and security.
  • Who we're looking for

  • Essential : You must be RGN registered.
  • Experience of consultant engagement to increase business performance, plus the ability to challenge consultants to influence best practice.
  • Proven track records of financial and key performance indicators.

  • Management, motivation and development of teams in particular a track record of successfully applying performance management
  • Knowledge of effective resource management tools e.g. finance - cost control; people- job design, restructuring, scheduling hours
