We have an opportunity for a Senior Engineer who is looking for technically challenging work on cutting-edge projects. You will join our established and growing Tunnel Ventilation and Technical Services Team in London.
Tunnels and Stations, Data Centres, Industrial Facilities and Labs.
The main responsibility will be the ongoing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation services including external flow, internal flow, aerodynamics and dispersion simulations.
In addition, coordination and management of different simulation works such as hydraulic network simulations, modelling of HVAC systems, pipe stress analysis, and creation of custom process tools will be part of the day-to-day responsibilities.

The Team provide services and support to both external and internal clients, supporting the many Arup offices worldwide.
As such, you will have the opportunity for international travel for meetings, design workshops, and short-term assignments in Arup and project offices.
You will work in an interdisciplinary and multi-cultural environment, collaborating on diverse projects in Arup offices in the UK, North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
Our work encompasses the full range of buildings and tunnels, including; metro systems, railway stations, road tunnels, service tunnels, cable tunnels, and process and mining tunnels, data centers, industrial facilities and labs.
A selection of current and recent projects that we are involved in are : HS2, Crossrail, Luton Airport APM, A303 Bypass, Fehmarnbelt Fixed Link, Copenhagen Citiringen, Marmaray Crossing, Second Avenue Subway, Kuala Lumpur Line 2, and Singapore Cross Island MRT, various confidential data centres, and manufacturing and scientific facilities.
You will also have the opportunity to work with internal and external clients. Key responsibilities : Plan, coordinate and manage the CFD projects.
Develop CFD models for the external / internal flow projects, including 3D model preparation, meshing, solver setup and post-process.
Delegate work to junior team members. Work closely with senior mechanical engineers, project managers and team leads. Perform aerodynamic and hydraulic calculations Production of presentations, reports, and preparing and coordinating flow of information.
Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs.
We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer with excellent design, technical, and software skills who enjoys working in a team of specialists and collaborating with multi-discipline design teams.
You will be interested in analysis of complex engineering problems and want to develop your skills in a specialist application.
You will have experience in the field of mechanical engineering and analysis with a focus on using analytical tools to inform design.
You will be committed to your own professional development and looking for challenging work to develop your engineering skill.
