This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in setting up a new service, supporting people with a learning disability and dementia.

About the role
You'll be working as part of a large team ensuring the environment is suitable, safe and dementia friendly, embracing the technology which will be available in the service to enhance individual's daily living.
Maintaining family contact and personal relationships will be essential. Having an understanding of a person's life story and history will play a big part and help us to deliver person centred support and promote wellbeing.
You’ll support individuals in all aspects of daily living. Supporting people with their personal care and medication needs is also key.
Your role will also extend to the activity hub, requiring you to be confident, and able to promote and engage in meaningful and creative activities such as arts and crafts, music therapy and memory stimulation.

If you’re new to social care, we will support you gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate. If you have experience as a care assistant or care worker in a care home, you’ll discover we provide plenty of on-going training, support to achieve relevant qualifications and career progression.

Caring, patient, kind, you'll have an understand how dementia can impact on someone's world. You'll need good communication skills and be able to adapt the support you deliver, depending on an individual's needs and wishes.
You'll be respectful of people’s differences, can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. You can work 24 / 7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights.
A full, manual driving licence is essential for this role.
Salary for this role is £9.50 - £9.80 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience. We provide a range of benefits including on-going development opportunities, shopping discounts, GP helplines and a pension.
All support workers work flexible shifts to provide a 24 / 7 service to the people we support. You have the option of working additional hours or sleep-ins in a range of services - paid at £50-£70 extra per sleep-in.
