Job overview :

We are looking for a confident and proactive individual to join us as Vendor Manager. You will be responsible for the recruitment, performance rating and development of external resources as per our business needs.

You should be able to set up processes and procedures, have excellent negotiation skills and attention to detail. You should be a strong leader, outgoing and be able to communicate with Management and team members and collaborate effectively with different cultures on a daily basis.

We are looking for a flexible and adaptable individual, able to manage and prioritise the business’ demands whilst maintaining and growing a first-

class pool of resources.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following :

  • Supervision and mentoring of a full-time Vendor Coordinator, including setting and monitoring objectives for the year.
  • Building and managing the company's resources, including subcontracted freelancers, agencies and studios for subtitling, translation, dubbing, voice-
  • over and audio description, or any other language localisation services as required managing the search, selection and recruitment of new vendors both in the UK and abroad.

  • Maintaining strong relations with existing studios and suppliers.
  • Ensuring the best resource choices are available to support and meet the production teams’ ongoing requirements.
  • Providing the sales team with the best supplier costs for long-term and one-off projects.
  • Evaluating potential vendors using established, fixed criteria such as industry experience, capacity, quality standards and cost.
  • Organising supplier testing and proofreading procedures for on-going and project-specific recruitment, including creation of tests and supporting material.
  • Monitoring supplier delivery, reliability, quality and accuracy standards and ensuring all contractual terms are adhered to.
  • Negotiating competitive rates with existing and new vendors for long-term collaboration and on a project basis.
  • Developing vendor policies and procedures to maximise performance and service quality.
  • Researching emerging territories and sourcing new vendors to meet clients' needs.
  • Tracking supplier performances through QC reports and organising training support where necessary.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of all relevant databases, making sure all relevant legal documentation is in place for all suppliers the company works with.
  • Desired skills and experience :

  • University degree, preferably in Translation, Business or related discipline.
  • 3-4 years’ relevant VM experience in a translation / localisation environment or similar industry, is preferred.
  • Experience in interviewing / recruitment.
  • Experience in managing a team.
  • Ability to clearly and accurately plan, record and summarise project information.
  • Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritise and work well independently, under pressure, and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of standard MS Office programmes.
  • Experience in project management tools and applications.
  • Business background and experience in subtitling, voice-over and dubbing a strong advantage.
