The business is actively looking for a Head of HR who will drive and implement the HR strategy for the company. You will collaborate and work alongside a talented, motivated and extremely dedicated management team all of whom are passionate about the business and the localisation and Media industry.

  • You will have full responsibility for the HR strategy and delivery across the business. This position will require an ambitious, professional and commercial individual who can assist the Management Team in driving the business forward efficiently and effectively to deliver the strategic plan.

    The role holder should possess significant experience in the role of a Senior HR Manager ready to take the step up to head our HR department as the business growth.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Work with the MD and alongside the management team to devise and implement HR strategy ensuring it supports the needs of the business and is flexible enough to cope with changes in the organisation
  • Support senior level decision making, in both day to day management and strategic direction of the Company by providing appropriate advice
  • Take a leadership role in developing the high-performance culture in line with our vision and values
  • Provide generalist HR support in the areas of employee engagement, employee relations, learning & development, legal compliance, measuring & reporting, performance management (including the proper use of discipline or other corrective actions and / or policy-
  • practice interpretation), compensation, and talent acquisition

  • Provide leadership, direction, counsel / coaching and business analysis that enables leaders to make sound talent decisions and promote employee engagement and positive employee relations
  • Team Management; lead the HR team, develop their capability and ensure that a culture of customer excellence and commerciality is fostered
  • Develop effective HR procedures and policies to reflect the business aims and focus of the organisation
  • Develop a robust approach to reward and benefits, aligning organisational performance goals and ambition with competitive rewards that are linked to career paths and achievement of aligned quantitative and qualitative objectives
  • Develop and maintain a succession plan for all key organisational roles
  • Ensure that managers and staff are fully aware and conversant with HR policies. Provide day to day HR advice is provided to line managers on all human resource issues;
  • management of staff, disciplinary & grievance, remuneration, etc.

  • Introduce and implement HR change management programmes which improve current methodologies
  • Take full responsibility for recruitment working alongside the hiring managers to ensure that the hiring process is efficient and meets the deliverables and expectations of the business
  • Support the drive for growth through innovation and effective engagement that enables high performance
  • Oversee investigations and complex employee relations issues including redundancy and grievance
  • Maintain knowledge of the industry trends and employment related legislation ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure policies are delivered appropriately and in a legally compliant way

  • Keep all employees informed of key organisational changes
  • Ensure that payroll is completed accurately and to deadline
  • Evaluate and make recommendations on cost-effective training and development programs
  • Act effectively as the externally facing representative for HR for the organization
  • Promotes high professional standards, positive interpersonal relationships and demonstrates VSI values at all times
  • Ability to manage highly confidential information
  • Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Management or related field
  • 5 plus years of demonstrated experience in all HR functions - compensation administration, employee engagement, employee relations, learning & development, legal compliance, measuring & reporting, performance management (including the proper use of discipline or other corrective actions and / or policy-
  • practice interpretation) and talent acquisition

  • Experience of managing a team and creating a high performance culture within the team
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills- communications, relationships, conflict resolution
  • Ability to turn ideas into realistic and achievable plans distilling key actions from complexity
  • Work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions
  • Ability to generate effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presented
  • Intuitive understanding of personalities and behavioural styles in order to work collaboratively with a variety of people and to make informed decisions around resourcing, reporting structures and relationships
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law issues and the ability to apply these to a variety of situations using a pragmatic and common sense approach
  • Excellent organisational, time management and planning skills
  • Can be hands on where required as well as directional
  • Will challenge and coach the business when needed
