Live Services is a fast evolving team charged with accelerating Codemasters' continued transition to Games as a Service.
Based at our purpose built studio in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside and a stone’s throw away from Royal Leamington Spa (or Silicon Spa as it has become known), we are looking to recruit a Live Services Senior Server Programmer.
This is a highly influentialposition and will take a definitive role in the technical road-map, working on our RaceNet product, new products and beyond.
We’re looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in theTech / Games industry. The role requires the individual to create strong linksand ensure cross pollination to the wider community of Codemasters softwareengineering excellence.
This is a challenging and varied role with lots ofexposure, some travel and the potential to expand within the team.
Typical Responsibilities :
Designing, implementing and documenting code to the required standards, agreeing timescales with the team, testing your work and fixing bugs
Setting up deployment pipelines, organising production deployment with IT
Designing architecture for a software system and how to split up the system into different components e.g. understanding microservices or SOA
Member of escalation process and collaborate with IT to resolve live issues
Collaborate with games and analytics team to deliver effective analytics pipeline
Work in a potentially cross discipline team to develop code delivering features and tools for the RaceNet product and Website projects
Manage authentication for game services
Take part in agile planning sessions and daily stand-up meetings
Help to identify any additional resources needed to complete your work
Key Skills &Experience :
Experience with Dev Ops, deployment pipelines, build servers i.e. team city and deployment tool i.e. octopus deploy
Good understanding of networking and server infrastructure i.e. IIS and how software will run in a live environment e.g.
concept of load balancers, ports
Strong understanding of C# and the .Net framework ASP.NET, NetCore frameworks
Database design and development experience with SQL and MongoDB. Understanding message queueing systems / message brokers e.g. RabbitMQ
Web service development with technologies such as ASP.NET Web API to create RESTful web services
Experience with authentication and security
Experience and managing source control systems such as GIT when part of a team
Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbally
Enthusiastic about technology and always looking to increase knowledge and sharpen skills
