Summary

The Kinship and Fostering team work with some of our most vulnerable children in Wiltshire. The countywide team has responsibility for fostering recruitment and assessment, approval, training and support across, including kinship care.

Our aim is for carers and children to receive a high quality, efficient and effective service which results in them being more resilient - making a positive difference to their lives.

Our approach is underpinned by our Trauma Informed ethos and an increasing use of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP).

As part of maintaining and improving the quality of our kinship and fostering services we need to ensure we have suitable training / development pathways and courses in place, both off the shelf’ and bespoke, for mainstream and kinship carers.

We aim to make accessibility to learning and development as easy as possible and just in time’.

About the role

As a Training and Development Co-ordinator, you will play a key role in maintaining and expanding our mainstream learning and development offer, as well as working with kinship staff to develop our Kinship training pathway.

You will be involved in co-ordinating, facilitating and delivering our learning opportunities.

Remaining up to date with the latest guidance, knowledge and practice is a key aspect of being able to ensure our service remains confident that our foster carers can meet fostering standards and therefore fulfil our statutory obligations.

  • About you

    Applicants for this role must be qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. social care, training and development or similar).

    A training qualification or significant relevant experience in learning and development is essential.
