THE ROLE OF ASSOC.CREATIVE DIRECTOR(SHOPPER)

Demonstrating the ability to lead a team of copywriters, art directors, and designers, the successful candidate will be someone who is well on their way to becoming a CD.

The role requires a proactive and dynamic individual, who will take charge of devising concepts, pitching ideas, and producing brave and brilliant work that creates real cut- through in retail and throughout the shopper journey.

With support from the creative managing partner and executive creative director, they will set the tone for the team and the account, working closely with the account team to maintain a fluid and collaborative relationship with clients.

They’ll also lead from the front in producing incredible work for some of the most well- known brands in shoppers’ baskets all over the world.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivering brave, memorable and progressive ideas that disrupt the FMCG category always seeking to challenge the limits of shopper marketing through brave and original thinking

Executing with precision & craft to produce best-in-class work across a range of disciplines, from on pack to online and beyond

Being a ruthless and meticulous brand guardian for the agency’s shopper accounts ensuring that each brand only ever shows up as the best version of itself

Providing day-to-day creative direction and management of a talented, multi-disciplined creative group inspiring and supporting those with less experience

Working confidently and collaboratively with with art directors, copywriters, 2D & 3D designers, creative technologists and editors as well as folks from other areas of the agency

Playing a central role in developing and growing client relationships, working closely with strategists and account handlers to ensure we present everything in a dynamic and inspiring way

Reviewing team performance and supporting career development, ensuring we get the best from people and that they get the most out of their time here

Contributing to the culture of the department and wider agency through creative initiatives and pro-active thinking.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

As a hands-on associate creative director, you’ll be ideas-first habitually exercising your belief that shopper marketing can be every bit as exciting and fulfilling as other areas of the creative mix.

Problem solving comes naturally to you and you are relaxed in expressing yourself and your ideas. You are open and collaborative but know how and when to impress your authority.

You come with no ego and are passionate about getting to the very best solutions, whatever form they may take always mentoring and championing the creatives who report to you.

An art direction or copy background is probable; demonstrable experience in creating world-class shopper campaigns is vital.

You ideally have eight-plus years of industry / agency experience; two-plus years in a creative leadership role. You love the idea of succeeding in a part of our business that you can make your own - something that will help you prove yourself worthy of a CD- ship in the not-too-distant future.
