Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the Quality function in line with Firmenich core values,
  • Deliver objectives set by QHSE corporate and regional management, and aligned with plant management,
  • Manage the day to day Quality activities and ensure adequate resources allocation and development,
  • Ensure the Quality Control processes are documented, updated and implemented to ensure delivery of SLA on sample cycle times and Quality KPI targets,
  • Lead Food Safety and Quality Certification Audits on Site (FSSC22000, ISO9001, RSPO, MSC, Organic)
  • Support Customer complaint investigation where analytical / sensory expertise is required.
  • Support Quality Assurance activities such as writing of Operational Procedures, and Specifications.
  • Support on site Internal Audit program and outputs,
  • Oversee Supplier Non-Conformance Management on site.
  • Ensure compliance to department Cost Centre and Cap Ex Budgets.
  • Additional Responsibilities :

  • Be a key player within the wider Firmenich Quality Community to drive future improvements at site;
  • Identify and drive projects and fundamental changes necessary to orient Quality team behaviour towards customer needs and ensure sustainable performance aligned with business requirements
  • Drive Quality culture within team by implementing Continuous Improvement / Lean Principles and concepts.
  • Develop, implement and maintain necessary Quality Operating Policies & Procedures collaborating with corporate subject matter expert to assure implementation of relevant corporate guidelines
  • Detect and report product failures, purchased RM rejections vs. established specification through correct reporting structure
  • Report timely to management the defined global QA / QC KPl's and related comments (corrective action plans) demonstrating progress on achieving defined Quality / plant targets;
  • Own and implement Maintenance and calibration of QC equipment's to the Firmenich schedule.
  • Manage Vendors for externalised analytical controls and equipment maintenance,
  • Be willing to be hands-on when the team needs support, to ensure service levels are maintained for our clients.
  • Grant highest priority to safety and protection of health of our employees, our customers and the general public, as well as to the protection of the environment.
  • We value :

  • Bachelor of Science i.e. Chemistry, Food Science, or equivalent scientific discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience as manager in Food Manufacturing Quality Control setting.
  • Experience of leading ISO standards (FSSC22000, ISO 9001, BRC).
  • Capability of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects and deadlines, and the ability to take impactful decisions and stand by them including covering for decision making for site decisions in lieu of the Senior QHSE Manager.
  • Experience in hosting Client Audits and experience in conducting Supplier Audits
  • Must be Organised, thorough, with strong attention to detail with excellent communication, adept in analytical decision making with demonstrated problem solving ability.
  • Ability to lead, manage, and motivate employees in the fundamentals of the Firmenich Legal and Compliance Charter.
