Angelini Pharma is looking for a brilliant candidate to fill the position of Medical Director UK.


  • Providing medical expertise to support safe and effective us of existing products and preparations for new products
  • Ensure adherence to industry and Angelini-specific codes of practice or conduct (including Transfer of Value Requirements), advertising codes, regulatory directives or guidelines, local legal medical normative and rules applicable.
  • Contribute to make Angelini Pharma a leading European player by reinforcing the scientific profile and reputation with the external Scientific community, Patients associations and Health authorities
  • Ensure the pharmacovigilance requirements are set and properly managed for all Angelini Portfolio
  • Create a high level of engagement and alignment with business partners, global functions and direct reports

  • Providing medical expertise to support safe and effective us of existing products and preparations for new products.
  • To lead and oversee all Medical Affairs activities : Medical Plan development and execution, Medical information, Promotional material review related to assigned products.
  • Be responsible for clinical trials and Real World Evidence on local marketed products, product line extensions and products under development;
  • Ensure the scientific and ethical reliability of promotional materials, regulatory and access documentation for marketed products in compliance with corporate standards, government / industry regulations and legal requirements;
  • Clinical studies, publications, scientific narrative and data dissemination, advisory boards, congresses, KOL engagement activities, scientific education (internal & external), promotional material (content alignment, review, approval), medical information support Relationship with Patients Associations for their support and for the implementation of patients support programs
  • Establish and maintain the scientific image and reputation of Angelini within the Country and being a key binding function between science and business;
  • Perform due diligence medical activities : medical evaluation of in-licensing offers for local products as applicable;
  • Establish / apply and maintain Medical strategic plans for local products where applicable, focusing on the profiling and positioning of our products;
  • Lead local medical team and provide scientific and medical leadership for Company’s product portfolio;
  • Be accountable and Manage medical local budget;
  • Provide medical support for local marketed products ensuring all medical enquiries and requests from internal or external sources are timely and effectively answered;
  • Drive the analysis and evaluation of scientific dossiers of new potential products in cooperation with the BU Heads as well as the Country Manager and communicating with KOLs;
  • Organize and ensure the necessary scientific and medical trainings plan are in place for all marketed and in launch products in the country to all sales, marketing and market access personnel, develop and update scientific manuals for the trainings, collaborating with Local Business Excellence and HR in providing technical training;
  • Support the global team in the organization of clinical trials identifying key clinical centres and specialists for activities through all portfolio LCM (pre and post marketing);
  • Cooperate with the Regulatory people in updating the Data Management System providing scientific documentation regarding all marketed products in the country;
  • Ensure the pharmacovigilance monitoring, reporting and any requirements are in place for all Angelini portfolio
  • Participate at all congresses and scientific events relevant for the therapeutic areas essential for the company key products;
  • ensure regular literature researches are conducted regarding all therapeutic topics relevant for the company;
  • Provide medical support services to the company’s operations regarding new product launches as well as regarding the marketed product portfolio;
  • Give medical support in all communications with national health authorities regarding pricing and reimbursement issues for all products marketed in the country;
  • Provide medical compliance advice so that business and function managers can make informed decisions about their projects and initiatives ;
  • Identify medical risk areas, inefficient or ineffective processes which may affect products and work with management in a cross-functional approach to streamline such processes in a fully compliant manner;
  • Ensure medical compliance with global and local, external and internal regulations, standards, policies and SOPs, according to the guidelines provided by Pharma HQ.

  • MD (or equivalent), PharmD or PhD degree.
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience in a senior medical affairs role including hands-on involvement in pre-launch disease awareness and medical education campaigns, medical post-marketing programs, and KOL relationships.
  • A broad, multicultural awareness, ideally with some international experience.
  • We will consider a plus candidates that are medical signatories
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong formal presentation skills. Ability to manage up, across and down.
  • An ability and appetite to build relationships rapidly with KOLs and other key external stakeholders.
  • Drive progress through both personal engagement and by influencing others across the organization; effectively manage senior level relationships, internally and externally.
  • An entrepreneurial and innovative mindset which reflects in the way to perceive the Medical Affairs in a new and growing organization
