This role has high strategic and operational accountability across a breadth of campaigns and partnerships which have a broader impact across BT’s 3 CFUs (consumer, enterprise and global services).

It is a significant external leadership role as a BT champion.

Strategy

  • Position BT as the leader in the UK and a leader globally delivering the digital skills agenda at scale and pace.
  • Deliver significant reputation differentiation leading BT to be considered as top 5 in FTSE100 for social responsibility.
  • Lead BT’s overall approach to digital skills partnerships and campaigns setting the strategy and long term ambitions.
  • Responsible for building strategic partnerships of significant impact commercially for BT.
  • Direct and oversee an aggressive media campaign to align BT as the leader in delivering digital skills.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to ExCo / Board, CFU leaders and wider business.
  • Delivery

  • Drive Be Tomorrow brand strategy to strongly support CFU customer brand campaigns.
  • Responsible for delivering the execution of multiple skills partnerships across key areas (SME / Workplace, Families and Older / Vulnerable People).
  • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Extensive and regular engagement at Group CFU and ExCo / Board level.
  • Oversee and build multi stakeholder groups externally across a range of profit and non-profit groups including Government, NGOs, Partners and Corporates working alongside BT’s 3 CFUs (consumer, enterprise and global services).
  • External Representation

  • Be a senior representative for BT, speaking at major national and international meetings, a senior face in the media and at ministerial level with government.
  • Leadership

  • Leading the development of the brand and marketing team internally to create the new Be Tomorrow Campaign and execute delivery externally, managing external agencies.
  • Budget

  • Responsible for significant budget.

  • Highly experienced in leading brand and marketing teams, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to build and use very senior relationships internally and externally.
  • Clear understanding commercial drivers for the CFUs and wider BT.
  • Oversee the measurement of impact of partnerships, projects and campaigns.
  • Ability to provide expert advice to Exco and Board.
  • Extensive experience of direction of high profile programmes and campaigns.
