The Paysafe Banking & Payment Partner team is seeking a new member to join this recently created function. The team is responsible for the Group’s global relationships with its core banking and payment partners, driving strategic initiatives to ensure Paysafe has the strongest possible platforms and solutions to drive our future needs.

Paysafe is a large, diversified payments company with market-leading business lines focused on : Digital Wallets (under the ubiquitous and innovative brands Skrill and Neteller), Card Processing / Acquiring and Ecash (enabling cash payments for e-commerce purchases).

The team and this role are focused on serving the Group in its entirety, including collaboration with central Finance and Treasury.

This senior, global position will be responsible for the Group’s FX processes and cross-currency payment activities from a banking and payment partner perspective helping our product management and tech teams integrate banking and payment partner solutions, ensuring the day-to-day and strategic success of those solutions, assisting our business lines with new product development where there are FX revenue opportunities, and overseeing FX relationship management with our partners, alongside our relationship managers.

Further responsibilities include managing and streamlining the Banking & Payment Partner Operations team, which provide operational support (e.

g. KYC / onboarding, account opening, etc) to the team and wider Group.

Reporting to the Chief Banking Officer, the ideal candidate will have a background working in banks with experience in FX trading or transactional FX or working in a FinTech integrating and managing FX solutions provided by banks.

Regulatory and risk / compliance knowledge related to banking and regulated payment / e-money institutions is also preferred.

Responsible for :

  • Evaluating and negotiating FX rates, solutions, processes and funding / payment structures
  • Integration of FX rate feeds, FX trade execution and FX settlement solutions with global banks and payment partners (FinTechs) guiding the IT / dev and product management teams who will perform the actual technical development work
  • Ongoing monitoring of FX pricing and execution benchmarking and allocating wallet share between existing and new partners
  • Investigating FX issues and workflows
  • Assisting with driving and delivering the Group’s banking and FX strategy
  • Supporting the Head of Banking Relationships to develop and maintain a portfolio of commercial bank relationships
  • Supporting the Head of Payment Partner Relationships to develop and maintain a portfolio of non-bank financial and payment service providers
  • Acting as the Group’s SME on FX
  • Supporting projects both internally and externally
  • Experience & Requirements :

  • Minimum of 5 years working within the banking or FinTech industry, with direct experience in FX
  • A University or Masters in a business, accounting / finance, economics, engineering or mathematics discipline is preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of banking connectivity for FX solutions, including rate feeds, API (FIX vs RESTful)
  • Knowledge of payment methods and clearing schemes
  • Knowledge of card acquiring, issuing and payment gateways is a plus
  • Knowledge of multi-dealer FX platforms
  • Experience with cross-border, cross-currency payment platforms / solutions
  • Baseline understanding of the regulatory environment for authorised payment institutions / payment service providers and e-money issuers / institutions in the UK and Europe
  • Baseline understanding of compliance, AML and risk themes in the FinTech / payments space
  • Payment or banking operations knowledge or experience
  • A mindset of questioning the status quo, and an eye for operational efficiency always continuously improving the performance of the business
