Organisation Transformation

Organisation Transformation is the largest area within Human Capital. Our vision is to support our clients with their largest, most complex and challenging transformation programmes.

We have teams focused on the Private, Public and Financial Services sectors and are increasingly focused on helping clients with Transformation Journeys’ where digital change, cyber-related challenges or significant capital programme investment is resulting in radical changes to the enterprise-wide operating model.

We also work closely with other parts of Consulting, for example with colleagues who lead on delivering SAP4HANA or other major technology-enabled change into organisations.

We pride ourselves in our depth of capability in both change management, organisation design and programme leadership as well as our ability to bring together these disciplines to deliver great outcomes for our clients.

About Public Sector

Within Organisation Transformation, we have a thriving Public Sector practice. With growth of over 30% last year, we number nearly 200 people across Public Sector teams in Change, Organisation Design, Programme Leadership and Capital Programmes.

We have a strong community of people who are passionate about making a difference and impact to citizens and public services.

We work across the Public Sector, working closely with colleagues across Consulting and the wider Deloitte firm in accounts and project teams that cover Transport, Security and Justice, Defence, Health and all other parts of central and local government.

We are particularly focused on large-scale transformation programmes, increasingly with an emphasis on programmes that form part of the Government’s Major Project Portfolio and / or have a core digital change component.

We have a strong ambition to significantly increase the size of our teams in Manchester and across the north of England, in line with the government’s emerging regional and industrial strategies, the strengthening role of local and regional government and the ongoing drive to relocate public sector staff and work away from London.

Your role

As a Consultant your role will have responsibility for bringing your Public Sector, Change and transformation expertise along with broader consulting skills to :

  • Help clients solve complex issues by performing analysis, providing recommendations and utilising a combination of experience, industry knowledge, tools and technology
  • Work with a range of stakeholders both internally within Deloitte and in client organisations
  • Support business development by contributing to new business proposals
  • Contribute to internal practice development by participating in proposition, methodology and point of view development activities and supporting knowledge capture and sharing
  • Deliver components of end-to-end change activity in a variety of programme contexts
  • About Change

    Effective change management is critical to the success of any transformation. How do you prepare your stakeholders employees, customers, suppliers for the changes being introduced by the transformation programme, and how can you be confident that they are ready, able and willing to adopt the new ways of working?

    Many programmes fail to deliver the expected benefits because people in the business are not equipped to make the change and plans are not in place to sustain it.

    Our Change teams deploy world class methodologies to provide assurance that the changes people are being asked to make (skills, behaviours and attitudes) are planned, developed, embedded, and sustained within the workforce.

    Central to this is building change leadership within our clients; helping leaders to create the right conditions, make the right decisions and take the appropriate actions in support of the desired outcomes of the project.

    Location :

    Your home office will be in Spinningfields, Manchester. Your primary focus will be supporting the growth of the Northern Consulting practice, however, we are a national and international business, so travel will be required.

    Work pattern :

    This is a permanent contract opportunity. The role can be worked on a full-time basis.

    Your professional experience

  • Overall your experience should include contribution to large scale organisation transformation programmes, ideally using traditional and / or agile methodologies with a digital product and technology enabled focus
  • Experience of working on projects ideally in a consulting organisation, or in an internal consultant role
  • Experience and knowledge of working in / with the Public sector
  • Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams, and fast-paced project environments
  • Ability to develop and manage client / stakeholder relationships at all levels in an organisation
  • Ability to plan and implement change communications and engage stakeholders
  • Experience of training and change capability development
  • Demonstrable experience of change impact assessment and mitigations planning
  • Practical understand of change analytics, baselining and monitoring progress of change
