Job Purpose

The Films category Sourcing Manager, is the lead in executing the Films sourcing strategy for ESI. The role leads and works with site purchasing specialists, operations, R&D and commercial team to implement the projects on behalf of all ESI Films businesses.

The role manages the strategic suppliers relationship and interfaces between internal customers and suppliers. This includes providing leadership to improve supplier quality, resolve elevated sourcing, supply and quality issues.

The role sources material across regions to support the NPI, cost-saving and material alternative sourcing projects. The sourcing manager reports to and works in close coordination with the Director, Global Sourcing, Packaging and Film.

Job Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsbile for creating and executing the ESI Category Sourcing Strategy at the Regional and Global Level :

  • Establish strategic partnerships with suppliers for assigned categories / subcategories and ESI user community yielding beneficial positions for the company.
  • Proactively monitor relevant commodity market drivers for assigned categories
  • Independently design and implement category strategies and projects required to achieve cost reduction objectives
  • Be integral member of R&D, Commercial and Supply Chain team for all ESI Film categories
  • Supply Base management :
  • Proactively scan the regional / global market place for spend consolidation opportunities and initiate first level engagement with potential alternate suppliers
  • Drive and proactively maintain strategic partnership development with new and existing critical suppliers
  • Identify, evaluate and implement opportunities which optimize costs
  • Ensure that contracts with regional and global vendors are actively managed in terms of pricing, rebates, quantities committed, etc.
  • must assure contract periods are tracked and maintained

  • Identify suppliers to be engaged in the supplier development plan. Leverage the supplier resources, technical expertise and equipment to work on new product development, to build up the organization's competitive advantage.
  • Conduct supplier business and technology roadmap reviews.
  • Essential Qualifications

  • Strong purchasing experience of 7-10 years, preferably in a multi-national manufacturing setting : Film, Resin or Chemical industry experience a plus
  • Bachelors or Master degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Supply Chain, or related fields
  • Keen commercial savviness, analytical thinking and excelling business acumen to identify and exploit opportunities as they arise
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a geographically dispersed team in strategic and tactical matters
  • Ability to contribute strategic, long term goals while achieving short term operational goals
  • Actively collaborate with R&D for source selection for all major spend areas, negotiate price and terms, implement supplier agreements / letter of intent.
  • Business analysis and presentation skills required, market and economic analysis skills a plus.
  • Experience identifying and implementing cost savings projects
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, as well as demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and experience in establishing and maintaining influential relationships with suppliers.
  • Positive attitude, self-starter and proven ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment working with multiple projects.
  • Fluency verbal and written in English is mandatory, multiple languages a plus
  • Ability to travel regionally and internationally ( 20% )
