About the role, client & what we’re looking for :

Unilever is Mindshare’s biggest account. Arguably the world’s leading FMCG manufacturer and one of the foremost marketing organisations in the UK.

There is a team of over 40 people working on the account to make our media as efficient, effective and innovative as possible.

Unilever consider Marketing a vitally important part of their business and as such position it front and centre within their organisation.

The brands are largely market leaders and feature in all of our homes, including Dove, Lynx, Sure, Simple, TRESemme, VO5, Persil, Magnum and Ben & Jerry’s amongst many others.

We are recognised as Unilever’s lead agency in the UK so are responsible for driving brave, exciting, award winning work across media, creative, digital and PR.

Unilever’s importance to Mindshare is also recognised, and as a result we are often the first brand to roll out new initiatives and be given first access to new tools and training programmes.

The role in question here covers digital display, video, and some print; the digital activity is bought as a mix of direct IO buys and programmatically.

ObjectiveS

  • Develop and demonstrate a thorough understanding of all Print and Digital media, with an emphasis on programmatic media.
  • Assist in all areas of day-to-day Print & Digital campaign management to meet clients’ business objectives and KPI’s from initial brief, constructing a plan, negotiating, and buying space, to post campaign performance reviews
  • Manage day to day delivery of print & digital media and the associated administration compiling client reports, regular campaign optimisation, trafficking, tag delivery, live checks, analysing data and report on trends, media owner requests and issues, resolving straightforward campaign delivery issues or problems
  • Learn and demonstrate a thorough understanding of all planning tools including AdDynamix and eTelmar
  • Actively seek creative and innovative media solutions to achieve our ambition of inventing the future of media
  • Evaluate media options and demonstrate knowledge of the print & digital marketplace
  • Actively seek opportunities to deliver our ambition to invent the future of media
  • Contribute to and present implementational plans and campaign results both internally and externally, working closely with other disciplines within the agency
  • Ensure that all media buys are reconciled, and print bookings are vouched within 5 working days
  • Assist management of all billing / invoicing requirements for clients
  • Actively participate in Mindshare events such as Huddle and Mindshare Day
  • Ensure compliance with Mindshare / WPP anti-bribery guidelines
  • CLIENT MANAGEMENT

  • Ensure all client requests are met and surpassed and manage client expectation effectively
  • Develop and demonstrate an understanding of the client industry sector, the competitors within that sector and the general industry environment
  • Understand your client’s business and build a good relationship with them
  • Contribute to the creation of client status, planning and review meetings / documents
  • Develop an understanding of short to medium terms business objectives
  • Understand all buying guarantees that Mindshare are contracted to deliver on your clients’ business
  • Ensure all billing is received in the correct format and at the correct time
  • Ensure proper process is followed in relation to SOX compliance and plan approval / purchase order receipt before campaigns go live
  • INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Develop a strong relationship with other digital disciplines (Biddable Social, Search) to maximise digital knowledge and understand how they work together.
  • Establish an understanding of how digital and print fit into the overall marketing mix
  • Develop collaborative relationships with the other departments within Mindshare such as Connections Planning to deliver an integrated service to clients
  • Be fully aware of all deal parameters within both Mindshare and GroupM and their effect on planning / buying targets
  • Where relevant, work with ULTRA, Unilever’s programmatic team. Understand the technical capabilities and product suite, working with the team to report and optimise on campaigns to deliver key client KPIs
  • Work collaboratively with and support the Account Manager to ensure all department, agency and client objectives are met
  • Managing and prioritising own workload
  • EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Develop strong relationships with relevant media owners at an appropriate level
  • Develop relationships with necessary external agencies on relevant client businesses to ensure an integrated approach (e.g. creative)
  • Be an effective ambassador for Mindshare in all dealings
