RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
The Team : The Channel Team is a global team (New York / London / Bengaluru) responsible for building the integration platform for the Commercial Banking suite of applications which will enable our banking client to communicate with the bank via API’s, files and SWIFT.
Clients will instruct payments, receive status, query and well as generated reports via one of a number of channels.
The Role : As part of our global team you will work on various components as a Software Engineer. Your role includes specification, development, as well as the testing and rollout of new features.
You are expected to contribute to the vision, understand our product roadmap, integrate business value with experience and contribute to building an engineering culture within the team.
We expect the successful candidate to deliver high quality software and to be passionate about software engineering. You must have a proficient understanding of software development concepts.
A good understanding of the Cloud concepts is a plus. You will also be responsible to develop easy to support software and liaise with our SRE team to factor in their requirements.
Candidate with strong SWIFT technical knowledge and experience is required to join SWIFT Infrastructure team. Responsibility of the candidate will be to work on upgrades, maintenance and support for GS SWIFT product set which includes SAG, AMH, Euclid, CREST, HSM, SWP, WebAccess and webMAX.
Key focus will be on Alliance 7.2 and AMH 3.6 upgrades.
Specialize in a process area (environment management, product and financial management, standards and practices or engagement)
Understand the common tools and practices used in managing the environment
Develop requirements for enhancements to our products when appropriate
Participate in change, incident, environment, capacity and BCP management
Help define strategy, manage communication and prioritization of enhancements
Vendor, user and business engagement
Understand the technical architecture of the products we support and be able to troubleshoot most issues that arise in production
Responsible for the health of the production environment for the product(s) owned
Contribute to the design and implementation of new and re-engineered tools to manage and monitor the production environment
Liaise with engineering team to prioritize enhancements, develop product strategy, and communicate the vision to clients
Provide consultation for the business and business application development teams on solutions that meet their requirements
Engage with vendors in all stages of their products’ life cycle including discovery, evaluation, implementation and future direction
Engage with greater technology team and project management in large project efforts
Use industry knowledge to proactively inform businesses of the impact of upcoming changes to relevant products as well as to formulate a plan of action

TECHNICAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Strong knowledge and experience of working with SWIFT services (FIN, FileAct, Browse, Interact etc.) and SWIFT products (SAG, SAA-
CREST, RMA, web-platform etc.)
AMH knowledge would be of huge benefit
Basic understanding of SWIFT message formats and Standards Releases
Awareness of Cyber / Infrastructure security would be of added advantage
Unix (shell), Perl, Python scripting
Experience in working with RDBMS and SQL
Basic Java development experience preferred
GENERAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Solid problem solving and Technical Project Management skills
Significant experience with the operation of large-scale / high performance systems
Significant experience in operations and troubleshooting user and environmental issues
Understanding of the software deployment process, with preferable experience in high-volume environments
Strong planning, prioritisation, communication skills in the context of a team environment
Demonstrate knowledge of monitoring and instrumentation
Experience with BCP, change and incident management, operational efficiency programs
Strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to provide support to our users in all regions. This will extend from resolving product specific queries to coordinated software rollouts and production support
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Be able to work under pressure
Experience dealing with demand based support, such as a rota based system
Experience in working with messaging products such as TIBCO EMS or IBM MQ
Experience of configuration management of middleware software solutions
Understanding of Networking and OS (Linux / Solaris / Windows) fundamentals
Financial markets knowledge
