We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist, to join and support us in the identification and creation of our market leading data assets, and predictive models, feeding into our data science and pricing activities.
Based at our London office in Cannon Street, or our Bexhill Group Head office down by the sea. Either way, flexible home working is an option and regular travel between offices is required.
About the role Reporting directly into our Head of Data Science, you will work collaboratively with some of the sharpest minds in the industry, championing the latest machine learning techniques into our Pricing and Underwriting approaches.
How you will make a difference : Creating data & analytical tools, to assist our analysts managing our risk portfolio Building best in class models to predictive claims outcomes, fraud & other key business indicators Identifying, analysing and monetising new data sources Mentoring and inspiring our junior data scientists About you As a leading insurer, this role is critical to our delivery and success, it will be exciting, busy, varied and challenging so a hands-on approach is key.
You'll have strong experience working with messy real world data sources, and a proven track record of understanding business problems and developing solutions to solve them, with a Degree (BSc / MSc) in a relevant field.
We’re looking for strong SQL competency, and excellent machine learning ability using languages such as R and Python, you will be comfortable working with data in a range of formats (e.
g. XML and JSON) and have the desire to learn and keep up with the latest technologies, staying ahead of the curve. You’ll be passionate about sharing your ideas to engage and enthuse some of our most senior stakeholders on our journey, so excellent communication skills are key.
