At ZOO we pride ourselves on our easy-to-use cloud-based software but much as the programmers like to think the process starts and stops with them, the product does not become a product until it is the full package Do we have online help available for those sticky moments when the user doesn’t know what to do?
Do we have those short training videos ready to help explain the new features? Is the knowledgebase up to date?
Technical Author / Writer, Information Developer, Content Writer, Support Information Specialist... there are lots of names for this role, but one thing for sure is that you will NOT be writing large volumes of text.
We are looking for someone who can help us support the products using the best information delivery methods possible, whether that is help tips in the apps, how-
to articles in the product help, a screen-capture video, a graphic or some other method that we haven’t even considered yet.
You will join an expanding product management team and will be responsible for delivering clear, accessible and easy-to-understand information relevant to the audience, whatever their skill level.
You will be mentored by your manager who will work closely with you to develop your skills and experience in pursuit of excellence in your field of work.
As a first step, you will get first-hand experience by working with our production team, using our software and learning about the exciting industry in which we work.
Due to the fast-past pace environment ZOO works in, we require an individual that is capable of setting, implementing and taking ownership of the information development process.
Your role will require you to research and gather relevant information about the ZOO product range and technology by talking with the development and product management teams, using the software and talking to the production teams.
You will also help out with the customer support so that you get a full appreciation of the kinds of questions asked by the users and prepare stock answers that can be used for commonly asked questions.
Your day to day responsibilities will include :
The successful applicant will have proven experience of the creation of technical information in the IT industry. You will have a good understanding of software product development technology and practices.
You will have excellent organizational and time management skills, be disciplined and self-motivated yet be able to work within a diverse team of professionals to achieve shared goals.
Any knowledge or experience in the below would be highly advantageous, but not essential :
