Role Title : Senior Data Manager
Role Context :
An on premise big data solution (Hadoop) has been developed and is being leveraged to support a data operations, data analytics, data quality management and data distribution capability.
Originally designed to support financial crime risk management, focus is expanding to cover commercialisation and optimisation opportunities both internally and externally.
A strategic operating model has been designed to support this growth in demand, the requirements for new, more advanced skills and domain expertise and the transition to and adoption of new technologies such as cloud.
Role Purpose :
To support the Payment’s CDO in all aspects of data management for the Group’s financial messaging, screening and payment transaction data globally.
To measure and improve the quality of this data, provide assurance to all internal and external consumers.
Principal Accountabilities :
Implementation of Group data management and governance guidelines & policies
Management of the end to end data quality management process
Metrics reporting and source / cause data analysis
Managing relevant risks and applying necessary controls to protect the bank’s data
Representing Payments Data in relevant data governance and data quality forums
Excellent understanding of the data life cycle
Experience in principles and implementation of data management and governance
Experience in relevant data profiling and data quality management tools and processes
Exposure to big data and relevant technologies, e.g. Hadoop / Cloud
Payments and payments flow subject matter expertise
Understanding of the key payment infrastructures / technologies e.g. SWIFT
Experience working with Business, Technology, Operations to drive change
Effective at building networks internally and externally and leading in a matrix environment
Role relevant qualifications, e.g. a degree
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Excellent understanding of financial crime risk management and proven experience of compliance with relevant standards and regulations
