We are now recruiting for Bodily Injury Claims Handlers to join our team at our Manchester Office.

These are full time, permanent opportunities.

Purpose of the role : As a Bodily Injury Claims Handler you will be responsible for the validation, investigation, negotiation and fulfilment of bodily injury motor claims, and any other associated losses.

You will proactively resolve outstanding investigations, in order to choose the most appropriate settlement route, optimising revenue generation and / or cost control opportunities.

The role will have end to end ownership and accountability at a claimant level.

We are actively looking for Claims Handlers to be part of our team who have got what it takes to develop their skill set to include : Investigating the circumstances surrounding accidents Identifying potential fraudulent cases and liaising with the relevant departments to combat fraud Negotiating between the Policy holder and Solicitors to get the best outcome for our customers Assessing medical reports and learning the skills required to confidently negotiate the value of the injury with Solicitors & get the best settlement for the Company Learning to deal with the Legal processes involved in the litigation of certain cases What being a Bodily Injury Claims Handler involves : Proactively managing the end to end process of all third party injury claims to establish and maintain accurate claim reserves up to £30,000 (within your own financial handling authority) to manage the overall expenditure throughout the lifecycle of the claim Effective gathering of information to enable early arrival at the correct liability decision giving consideration to economic settlement, pro-

actively secure appropriate recoveries to limit business exposure Settling Third Party Claims within financial handling authority up to a value of £30,000 through active negotiation to achieve the optimum claims settlement using department and best practice strategies, whilst at all times giving appropriate consideration to avoidance of unjustified litigation Handling and dealing with all Low Value Pre-

Action Protocol injury (MOJ Stage 3) litigation up to a value of £25,000 within court deadlines, liaising with Counsel as appropriate.

Refer all other litigated cases (non MOJ) requiring legal intervention to our Proactive Partner.

  • Managing and owning the customer experience (including third party), ensuring adherence at all times to the principles of Treating Customers Fairly, highlighting where you do not feel our processes support contribution to the overall success of the business Managing and maintaining effective relationship with both internal (Hire ;
  • Damage Management ; Counter Fraud, Underwriting) and external stakeholders (Rehabilitation providers, medical experts, Counsel, Forensic Accountants, Brokers) to ensure adherence to internal and external policies, procedures and governance , whilst controlling indemnity spend Maintaining an awareness of solicitor behaviours and changes in relevant legislation to understand the market place and BI handling approaches to provide suggestions for improvements Developing self in line with the leadership framework in order to maximise personal contribution to your role and to understand how it fits into the wider Claims operating model to include acting as a technical mentor / referral point to enhance capability development Skills & Qualities you'll need : Previous experience within Motor Claims and / or Bodily Injury would be beneficial (but not essential) Experience of using a case management system Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills Ability to mentor less experienced consultants Ability to settle fracture claims involving cyclists, pedestrians ,motorcyclists where surgery may have been required Ability to handle more complicated liability cases Hours : 35 hours per week, Monday -
