In conjunction with Artlift, the University of Gloucestershirehas the opportunity to provide a part-time (two years) fees-only studentshipfor an MSc by Research in Psychology to support work in the area of Arts on Prescription(AoP).
Areas covered include evaluating participant outcomes and exploring theexperiences of key stakeholders in the AoP process.
AoP has been a recognised part of social prescribing forover a decade. The evidence base for AoP interventions has been established, and so now more work is required to understand the mechanisms behind thebenefit to health and wellbeing experienced by participants, as well as thenuances around what makes programmes effective, for whom they may be mosteffective, and whether these mechanisms differ depending on participant needs.
The present studentship will directly build on our portfolio of research withArtlift, contributing to the evidence base for this intervention, with broadrelevance to social prescribing modalities.
Applicants must have a undergraduate degree in Psychology,Public Health, or related discipline of at least 2 : 1 standard or equivalent.
