We are looking for an engineer with extensive experience of creating and developing real-time embedded software, to apply their knowledge to the development of a world-leading multispectral integrated sensing suite for a next-generation combat aircraft.
A strong technical ability in embedded software is required in order to help the company achieve its goal of creating a high quality sensing solution.
The role inherently requires a strong aptitude for problem solving, being able to work as part of an agile team. We are looking for candidates with a passion for software engineering technologies and best practice.
The candidate will join a multi-functional, agile team, which encompasses subject-matter experts across a wide-variety of domains and subjects.
The candidate will make major contributions to the released software, working across the entire lifecycle to ensure a quality product.
The candidate is expected to present best practice within the team, mentoring others when needed. The candidate will also have access to a brilliant training platform and mentoring for progression.

Key Responsibility Areas
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Work within a cross-functional team, experiencing the full product lifecycle.
Development of distributed, real-time embedded software.
Develop in C++ and C# languages.
Use tools such as Visual Studio (up to version 2019), Azure DevOps, MagicDraw and Matlab / Simulink.
Contribute to the agile methodology used by the team.
Involvement in the growing Continuous Integration culture on the project and within the company.
Participate in the network of people across the project, championing knowledge sharing and best practices.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You really must have :
Experience across the full software lifecycle :
Software design (ideally using UML) and experience with design tools.
Development of high quality embedded software.
Unit and component testing, static analysis.
Familiarity with configuration control and, ideally, best practices.
Knowledge of Continuous Integration techniques and uses.
Self-motivated with a strong aptitude for problem solving.
Strong communicator and collaborator.
Passion for pursuing the latest software technologies.
Undergraduate Engineering degree or related scientific discipline.
It would be nice if you had :
Knowledge of networking and IP stack.
Experience working in an agile team.
Knowledge of passive and active RF sensor systems, including signal-processing.
Some experience of MATLAB and Simulink.
