Description

A material handler maintains production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies.

As well as assisting in unloading, counting, and maintaining inventory. This position reports to Supply Chain Manager

Responsibilities :

  • Obtain product and / or materials for production when requested.
  • Move freight and stock to and from loading docks, delivery vehicles, storage areas and production areas either manually or using equipment such as trucks and forklifts.
  • Follow written or oral instruction regarding daily tasks and job duties
  • Maintain a high level of organization with inventory material.
  • Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies
  • Assist in inspecting and wrapping incoming glass.
  • Appropriately identify, label, and place materials and supplies in stock.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections.
  • Executes and supports the waste grinding operations within the Northwood Plant.
  • Requirements

  • Ability to distinguish between different wood species and other materials
  • Able to properly complete necessary work documents.
  • Can accurately measure work using tape measure and / or calipers.
  • Completes schedules in order of priority
  • Understands quality parameters and specification and performs high quality work
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.
  • Able to determine part sizes and layout parts accordingly
  • Adhere to all safety policies
  • Know and understand specific safety requirements for each piece of equipment assigned to.
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment for each assigned job
  • Be able to instruct any helper in safety aspects of the job
  • Be able to lift 50lbs.
