We are currently recruiting for a Social Value Manager to join our team on a major project in the North East. The main purpose of the role will be to manage, coordinate and deliver social value activity on the project in order to meet framework KPIs and related contract commitments set by key stakeholders;
supporting the achievement of NG Bailey’s Nett Positive strategy
The project scope is to construct a major manufacturing facility to produce world-class, sustainable lithium-ion batteries, primarily for the automotive industry.
The project is the first of its kind in the UK. The factory, or Gigaplant, will eventually be the fourth largest structure in Europe and will play a key part in the UK and global strategy to reduce carbon emissions as the world embarks on ambitious plans towards net zero.

Key Responsibilities include :
Drive the Social Value agenda related to our engineering projects; managing data collection, developing and maintaining relationships with appropriate community, education and third sector bodies.
Work with both site and office teams to raise the profile of social value and engage with colleagues across the business to present key information and share best practice.
Support the project team from the tender stage to identify and agree environmental, social value requirements and opportunities to be targeted.
Support the project management team and liaise with labour team to deliver the project people strategy to provide recruitment, training and development opportunities for the local community.
As the point of contact between NG Bailey, our customers and external bodies, organise and deliver social value activities that provide true benefit.
Represent NG Bailey in the region at relevant working groups.
Establish an effective and engaging presence across social media platforms, work with the Marketing team and relevant stakeholders to raise awareness of social value activities.
Work with Schools, Colleges, Charities, not-for-profit organisations and other relevant bodies across the region to build relationships and identify social value opportunities.
Engage with procurement team to ensure social value deliverables are embedded within the supply chain and provide subject matter expertise to supply chain providers where necessary.
Manage and coordinate relevant activities to map, monitor, report and evidence all elements of performance relating to project-led social value KPIs.
Qualifications and Experience :
Preferably educated to degree level with experience gained working in a similar role in a commercial organisation including :
Experience of delivering Social Value in collaboration with key stakeholders, preferably in the construction industry.
Demonstrable awareness of the wider sustainability and social impact agenda
Experience of engaging large groups and presenting information that appeals to the audience and gains support
