Engineering ApprenticeSummary of Role : The role will allow the successful candidate to engage in studying towards a BEng (Hons) Degree in Engineering : Design and Manufacture on Heriot Watt's Graduate Apprentice Scheme.
The candidate will spend one day per week attending University and four days per week in Raytheon training to be a Design Engineer.
When not at University, the student will be given on the job training within our company.You will be assigned to a project team to work on live projects and contribute through supporting the team.
The hands-on work experience accompanied with a strong technical education will provide the individual with the necessary skills to fulfil the role as a Design Engineer.
Main Duties· Assist engineers with the designing, building and testing of electronic systems· Support the project teams in various ways· Build and test proto-types with guidance from the design engineers· Procurement and co-ordination of materials and proto-types· Miscellaneous tasks including lab related activitiesCandidate Requirements : Essential : ·4 Higher Grades including Mathematics plus one other Science (minimum Grade 'B')·Great interest for design engineering·Possesses a strong willingness to learn·Good communication skillsAttention to detailAbility to multi-taskIT literate -excel, word, internetDesirable : Previous work experience in any roleGood time management, prioritisation and organisational skillsKeen to continue learning beyond Apprentice roleInterest / hobby in a STEM fieldAbout Raytheon UKWith facilities in Broughton, Waddington, Glenrothes, Harlow, Gloucester, Manchester with presence across other customer sites also.
