Description of the Business Line or Department

CORI, the Coverage and Investment Banking division of SG CIB, offers a global advisory approach focused on strategic dialogue with clients.

Building on long-term relationships based on trust, CORI offers clients the whole range of services offered by SG CIB and the Société Générale Group, with a particular focus on investment banking and commercial banking activities.

CORI's client reach is worldwide with solid local expertise thanks to our platforms in Europe (the UK, Germany, Italy, Iberia and the CEEMEA region), the Americas and Asia.

Summary of the Key Purposes of the Role

  • Ideal opportunity for a Senior Associate / Junior Vice President to join an established CORPORATE FINANCE franchise within a leading European Bank
  • The candidate will receive a well rounded perspective of the development of global financial services in this position, and will be joining an award winning team in a hard working but friendly atmosphere
  • This is an excellent opportunity to join a firm with business successes throughout recent years with a specifically strong Power, Utilities and Infrastructure franchise across the investment banking products range
  • The position will be based in London within the Corporate Finance team
  • The candidate will be focusing on Power, Utilities and Infrastructure (PUI) Corporate Finance, and will be involved in M&A and ECM execution as well as origination of new deals.
  • The PUI team covers both energy and transport infrastructure with major areas of expertise and achievements.

  • Summary of Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the origination of Corporate Finance transactions across the Power, Utilities and Infrastructure sector
  • Leading / assisting in the execution of Corporate Finance transactions across the Power, Utilities and Infrastructure sector
  • Leading in the preparation and pitching of presentations for clients, investors and the broader investment community
  • Financial statement analysis and financial modelling
  • Company valuations mainly using market multiples, M&A multiples and the DCF method
  • Help develop transaction structures / structured solutions
  • Keep up to date about M&A, equity and debt related issues
  • Working with other country and products teams as required
  • Efficiently supervise junior colleagues (interns, analysts and potentially associates as appropriate) and owns responsibility of their work
  • Is able to coordinate multi-products pitch and execution
  • Is able to assist in the development of structured marketing plans
  • Has developed cross-product approach : is able to cooperate efficiently with other business line
  • Has strong command of English in an international deal-making environment
  • Strong involvement in origination, is commercially aware
  • Demonstrates autonomy in origination, from ideas generation to pitch delivery to client
  • Shows potential to be client interface at senior level
  • Has developed negotiation skills

  • The candidate is required to be able to autonomously manage day-to-day of the business be it on transactions or marketing efforts
  • Give guidance and efficiently supervise junior colleagues on projects and marketing pitches

    Technical / Industry skills

  • Has excellent knowledge of Corporate Finance concepts and Corporate Finance related products (equity-linked, financing, STG)
  • Has solid Corporate Finance sector / country knowledge : is able to identify new opportunities and understand key industry trends
  • Has solid accounting, valuation, legal, market rules / listings rules knowledge
  • Has excellent modeling skills (complex structuring modeling, advanced business plan modelisation or Convertible Bond EPS Dilution / Right Issues modeling)
  • Is able to coordinate multi-products pitch and execution
  • Is able to assist in the development of structured marketing plans
  • Has strong command of English in an international deal-making environment
  • Ethics and regulatory requirements
