We are looking to recruit passionate Relief Support Workers to join our dedicated team of Support Workers in our Doncaster Community Support Service.

Due to the nature of this service, you will need to have a full driving licence and access to a car for work. Mileage is reimbursed at 43p a mile.

About the Service The Service you will be working in is a social service and love days out and activities. We currently support all over Doncaster with a variety of individuals who like to get out and about as much as possible, sometimes you just can’t believe you are at work when your out shopping, watching a movie at the cinema, going to the garden centre, going on day trips or just chilling having a chat.

The individuals need support to live a fulfilled life and help with daily tasks and they need your support to do this.

That's where the role of a Relief Support Worker comes in! It gives you the flexibility to choose the shifts you want to work, based on your availability and the needs of the service.

As a Relief Support Worker flexibility is key as you may be required to work a variety of different shifts.You should have the ability to work flexibly across weekdays, weekends and bank holidays and shifts will be spread between 7.

00 am and 10.00 pm.Your flexibility is therefore essential for us to be able to meet the needs of the people we support.

The role of a Relief Support Worker can be challenging at times, so it is essential to have a positive mind-set with a desire to improve the lives of those with a learning disability.

You will need to be quick thinking and have a positive can-do attitude.

What does a Relief Support Worker do?

As a Relief Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life.

  • Supporting people to live independently budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
  • Relationship building supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
  • Community & Social Inclusion - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.

  • We are currently in the process of reviewing our salaries. The salary for this role will be increased to £10.33 per hour with effect from 1 August 2022.
