Support the Company’s long-term ESG vision, mission and operating principles, as well as the development of a high-level strategy to support them.
Monitor relevant ESG regulations / policies, industry practices and guidelines, and stakeholder issues. When necessary, collaborate with internal stakeholders to recommend related strategies, risk mitigation, policies and organizational changes.
Perform ongoing analysis and evaluation of the Company’s ESG performance, including benchmarking and best practice research and competitive and proxy peer group comparative assessment.
Continue to enhance year over year ESG performance.
Support the Company as a central resource for internal stakeholders on the subject of ESG. This includes inquiries on our ESG performance from their various external stakeholders such as investors and customers.
Lead the team in the development of S&P Global’s ESG public disclosures, including an annual ESG report, responding to inbound ESG inquiries
Oversee the team’s collection and monitoring of relevant ESG data to support these public disclosures, as well as the Company’s strategic ESG priorities, goals and targets
Collaborate with the Company’s key internal divisions and stakeholders to develop recommend ESG strategy and business integration plans.
Manage the Environmental Action Committee and help drive initiatives including setting environmental performance targets to decrease environmental impact.
Manage relationships with key ESG partners and third party groups to gain insight on emerging trends, risks and opportunities and ensure maximum value add.
Identify new potential partners.
Serve as a PA contact and regional ambassador for Public Affairs, communicating priorities with a regional lens, meet regularly with key regional stakeholders to understand local / regional business priorities
Provide support to existing and proposed 3rd party relationships in EMEA
Manage a team of one and oversee ESG related budgetary responsibilities.
Essential Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental or energy management
Proven experience within sustainability and ESG
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with ESG best practices, disclosure frameworks, industry-wide trends
Strong interest in the intersection of business and ESG issues
Proven experience in team management and budget ownership
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Demonstrated client service focus and ability to build relationships both internally and externally
Preferred Qualifications :
Master’s degree in sustainability, environmental or energy management preferred
Acumen of S&P Global’s businesses, industry and customers
Strategic and innovative thinker with good judgment and ability to problem solve
