    As part of the content strategy, we are looking to transform the end-to-end lifecycle and governance model across our systems, with the goal being to create once, use often.

    The role of the content project manager is to support the setup and integration of the new systems and develop and embed new processes that will ensure the systems continue to support effective content generation and use.

    Mace is undergoing substantial digital transformation to support our 2026 business strategy and this role will make a major contribution to shaping and delivering the brand going forward.

    The ambition is to transform our content governance model to improve productivity across communications and bids, raise Mace’s win rate with high-quality bid content and improve the sharing of knowledge and information across the business.

    We are looking to develop a brand-new operating model for the creation, publication, management, storage and measurement of written and visual assets.

    This role will work alongside a digital project manager and a wider team to develop the appropriate processes to support content governance and workflow.

    After conducting a thorough content audit, you will look at the role that written content plays across the entire customer journey - identifying opportunities for content to better support work winning and build brand awareness.

    You will then support the implementation of a new content management system and set up robust governance processes to effectively manage content produced throughout Mace while leading all writers through a change programme.

  • As the project progresses you will play a significant role in identifying opportunities for new written content that will support the business in consistently communicating the brand;
  • taking a lead role in generating corporate-level messaging, case studies and thought leadership articles for marketing and bid purposes.

    It is essential that you have experience working with SharePoint and a content governance model. You will be proficient in asset management principles and creative production lifecycles, have working knowledge of metadata and content taxonomy and be a confident writer and copyeditor, experienced in working with a style guide.

    This role is initially being offered as a one-year contract to focus on the procurement and early implementation of the new systems.

    As the project develops it is expected that, beyond the first year, the role will evolve to have a stronger focus on content generation and strategic system management.

    Your responsibilities will include :

    Working with the content project delivery team to set up and embed the new content strategy and embed new behaviours and operating model

    Auditing the existing written content from across the business and defining the taxonomy.

    Developing a content governance and workflow process that supports our new systems.

    Implementing the new content management system and embedding processes through training and the development of best practice guides.

    Measuring and reporting on content engagement - evaluating data, developing reports and evaluating content plans.

    Identifying content gaps and developing written assets.

    Integrating the new systems with SharePoint to structure and govern content for bid purposes.

    Understanding how the DAM (digital asset management) integrates into the wider content strategy.

    Identifying opportunities for additional written assets.

    Establishing and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

    Acting as an ambassador of the Mace brand - providing advice and support.

    Keeping abreast of content trends and digital technologies.

    Supporting the team to achieve the objectives in the marketing and communications strategy.

    Being familiar and compliant with Mace policies and processes.

    About you

    You have experience working with a DAM system and content governance model. In past roles, you have governed content across multiple departments and have a strong understanding of different CRM platforms, particularly Salesforce / Oracle, as well as an understanding of SharePoint governance.

    You have a high level of creative writing experience for different channels and audiences and are skilled at copy editing to house standards and style.
