Job Purpose

To deliver the completed project (s) to the Project Manager

Majority of time spent : Day to day management of the project

Responsibilities.

  • Take initial project responsibility for marking out sites, applying designs and plans and checking that drawings and quantities are accurate for the work.
  • Oversee the selection and requisition of materials and plant for use in the construction.
  • Suggest and implement cost-effective solutions and proposals for the project(s).
  • Plan and organise the work, plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed timescales and deadlines.
  • Undertake or organise the continuous snagging of work on site, arranging for appropriate action and works to be taken.
  • Manage the Permit to Work systems.
  • Liaise and communicate on a regular basis and as required for the smooth operation of the project, to include :
  • site manager

    clients and their representatives

    consultants, planners, quantity surveyors

    sub contractors

    the supervisors and workforce involved in the project

  • Monitor project progress to establish site variations and delays against contract, keeping all relevant parties informed and resolving issues whenever possible.
  • Undertake the role and responsibilities of Site Manger as required with particular emphasis on CDM and the supervision of sub-contractors
  • Manage and Ensure that Health, Safety and Environmental standards are understood and adhered to at all times.
  • Write detailed reports and updates for the Project Manager and all interested parties.

  • Good understanding of both electrical and / or mechanical engineering.
  • Good understanding of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
  • Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015’
  • Good IT skills Word, Excel and Microsoft Project.

  • A background in both electrical and / or mechanical engineering.
  • Site management experience.
  • CSCS card holder
  • IOSH qualified.
  • Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
  • Good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
  • Good IT skills Word, Excel and Microsoft Project.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work away from home as required.
  • Desirable

  • Experience of CHP installations.
  • Degree / HND / HNC in Engineering.
