We are seeking an experienced technology professional to oversee accountability for the delivery of the UK retail and consumer portfolio of change and improvement initiatives impacting the delivery of service across teams.
The role encompasses management of an IT team focused on delivering systems and process improvements in line with the business strategy.
Provide expert knowledge, experience and an innovative approach to support and develop the agreed IT strategy, ensuring that it is continually appraised and updated
Provide expert strategic knowledge and inspirational leadership, training and coaching to the IT staff for whom you are responsible and overall management responsibility for all IT teams
Manages the team in the execution of the programs at the OpCo level, ensuring that detailed project plans, objectives, milestones, risks and issues logs and financial impact reporting are in place
Oversees the successful execution of programs through resources allocated to the initiatives from within the teams or practice;
ensures that the ultimate deliverables and objectives of the program are met against targets set by the Regional Head
Manages regional budgets and expenditure management for Jelf cost centers; Participates in the communication of financial results and cost drivers with key stakeholders within leadership and the business;
Provides oversight on resource planning and usage; acts as regional representative for the IT Department
Partners with senior individuals within the business and operating company IT functions on items relating to business management;
oversees a framework to support engagement with key stakeholders globally and promote services with stakeholders
To be a decision maker providing strategic and professional leadership on IT projects and development
Controls the function, including line management responsibilities for existing Jelf team; Assigns day to day tasks and oversees the activities of the function, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to provide required delivery and meet agreed targets
Leads the department with the successful delivery of the global Operational Controls framework; Oversees virtual teams which operate across locations globally to delivery specific aspects of the operating model, driving consistency and creating economies of scale
Establishes regional strategies, ensuring targets are in place, that the teams are properly resourced and all deliverables and KPIs are met;
oversees an internal governance mechanism to measure adherence to operational guidelines, policies and procedures across the local IT team
Engages proactively with key partners and stakeholders within HR, Finance and similar functions within the operating companies to ensure effective collaboration
Continually review technical developments to ensure, where feasible, that efficiency and increased surplus is achieved
Ensure that user requirements are met and communication during the project journey has been open and realistic
Manage tender processes for the team. Oversee the implementation of systems and processes and ensure future needs are accommodated
Keep pace with legislation to ensure compliance in all areas including Data Protection
Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be required of you
Skills and Experience needed :
Extensive experience in insurance technology, covering commercial; retail and personal lines
Strong skillset in digital insurance practises and capabilities
Working knowledge of the insurance policy lifecycle, including quotation, policy issuance, settlements and claims
Excellent stakeholder management skills gained in C-Suite facing roles a must
Significant experience of strategic planning, implementing and managing large scale complex IT platforms
Demonstrated ability to deliver leveraging a large team with on / off / near shore components, as well as building effective relationships with peers in a complex matrix environment
Strong knowledge of risk management and operational controls in an FCA (and preferably SOX) regulated environment
A proven track record in IT management; Change management processes and Agile software development lifecycle
Experience of managing 3rd party supplier relationships
