UX Designer - Agent Platform

Location : London, Bristol, Edinburgh

Kaluza’s vision is to help create a world where decarbonization is easy. Born out of the OVO Group, Kaluza is the AI platform powering the future of energy.

From revolutionising customer billing to smart electric vehicle charging, our technologies are empowering some of the biggest energy suppliers to better serve millions of customers and unlocking the benefits of renewable energy and smart devices to help decarbonise the grid.

Our products are built with differentiation in mind, giving developers endless ability to extend our core capabilities.

We are an agile scale up energy tech business, but we’re also backed by the resources of the UK’s largest independent energy supplier, OVO Energy.

The best of both worlds, one could say!).

Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?

We’re looking for a mid-weight Product Designer / UX Designer to join our highly collaborative Kaluza Platform Design Team.

We help teams see through the eyes of real people understanding their context, motivations, and needs.

You’ll join a team responsible for providing the best possible experience for energy customer service agents. You’ll work closely with product managers and engineers to improve how we can build Kaluza’s agent tooling.

You’ll report into a Senior Designer in the Agent Platform squad.

Other practices will support you, including Content Design, Design Operations, Design System, Research, Service Design and Product Design (formerly UX Design).

What will I be doing?

  • Design user journeys, service maps, documentation, user flows and wireframes.
  • Use research techniques, and run tests to understand user needs.
  • Work in line with our design system, accessibility standards and patterns. And build on these wherever relevant.
  • Use various tools for sketching, collaborating, prototyping and communicating design. We love Figma and Miro!
  • Use agile and lean approaches to software development. We use tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with engineers and product managers. This will involve facilitating workshops and co-designing solutions.
  • Take part in design critiques and show-and-tells.
  • Measure the impact of your work and show how it helps meet team objectives.
  • Is this the job for me?

    Ideally you will

  • Enjoy tackling complex problems and thinking laterally.
  • Have strong attention to detail.
  • Be skilled in building strong relationships across an organisation.
  • Be able to simplify complex ideas and communicate them effectively.
  • Love learning about people and what makes them tick.
  • Be comfortable sharing ideas and pushing initiatives forward.
  • Understand biases and assumptions (including your own).
  • Be hungry to learn and go outside your comfort zone.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • If you have most of the qualities above, but not all of them, please apply anyway. We think passion and attitude are sometimes as valuable as experience.

    From us you’ll get*

  • 4% of your salary to spend on flexible lifestyle benefits
  • 5% matched employer contribution to your pension
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • 25 days holiday + 1 for your birthday
  • Flexible working hours
  • And many more...
  • Please note that certain benefits kick-in once you have passed probation which can be up to 6 months after your start date.

We understand some people may not apply for jobs unless they tick every box. If you're excited about joining us and think you have much of what we're looking for, even if you're not 100% sure we'd love to hear from you.
