The Role

Jellyfish is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to work in one of ourUK Offices. The candidate will be positioned within the rapidlygrowing cloud engineering team to work on building, maintaining andscaling our clients web application technologies (PHP, NodeJS andPython) using modern infrastructure techniques such as serverlesscontainers and container orchestration.

Jellyfish is a diverse advanced digital partner which means you’llwork on a range of solutions from public cloud serverless platforms,Kubernetes deployments and continuous delivery pipelines.

  • Liaise with customers to propose modern production solutions fromcustomer requirements
  • Act as an escalation point for junior / mid-weight engineers
  • Review and oversee platform enhancements
  • Advise on new technologies to make sure Jellyfish are alwaysevolving
  • Execute implementations to tight deadlines, working well bothindependently and as part of a team
  • Communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff and thebusiness
  • Govern our technologies to ensure security standards are met
  • Managing large cloud projects for our clients across multipleregions globally
  • Work closely with the in-house developers to help share knowledgeand improve the quality of practices
  • Taking ownership of projects gaining a personal satisfaction inachieving high performing environments
  • Working in a DevOps capacity with a desire to automate everything
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment trying to always achieve newgoals
  • Knowledge & Experience

  • Understand microservice architecture
  • Understand performance enhancement technologies (CDN, Caching, etc)
  • Practice SRE concepts and design
  • Ability to scope and estimate technical web builds
  • Track and monitor project costs and deadlines
  • Effectively conduct architectural reviews
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts
  • Understanding of content and ecommerce systems (WordPress, Drupaland Magento)
  • Certified in a public cloud technology (AWS, GCP or Azure)
  • Competent with Dockerizing application
  • Hands-on experience with managing Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Web technologies (LAMP & LEMP)
  • Experience with Terraform or other IaC technologies
  • Develop and maintain CI Pipelines
