The global accounting organization supports our financial reporting, internal control, intercompany, and transfer pricing activities and also supports new business launches globally for Amazon in the consumer products, digital initiatives, merchant, operations, logistics, payments, and cloud computing lines of business.

This position, Corporate Reporting Systems Sr. Analyst- EMEA, will be responsible for delivering and supporting solutions for our EMEA accounting team within our Enterprise Reporting platform, which includes the following systems : Oracle Financials General Ledger, Hyperion Financial Management, Essbase, Smart View, Account Reconciliation Management and Hyperion Financial Close Management.

As a Corporate Reporting Systems Sr. Analyst EMEA, you will identify opportunities to design, and deploy technology solutions that enable strategic initiatives and operational improvements.

Additional responsibilities include ensuring application controls are designed and operating effectively to support our internal controls over financial reporting.

This role requires proficiency in the analysis of system requirements, solution design and ongoing maintenance / support.

In addition to delivering new technology and enhancing / supporting existing systems, an effective Sr. Analyst will contribute relevant technical, functional, and process expertise, negotiate and drive alignment for all financial systems projects and initiatives, which affect our accounting close.

We a require an individual contributor, leader candidate who has held similar positions in large public companies or who has held functional lead level positions with a consulting firm (serving Fortune 500 clients ).

Successful candidates will have tangible professional experience with accounting and financial reporting systems and process implementation.

Demonstrated experience in providing leadership to accomplish unusually complex challenges will be expected as this is an ongoing requirement for this position.

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in business, accounting, computer science and / or related work experience
  • Tangible experience with analysis, design, implementation, and support of Hyperion Financial Close & Reporting and / or Oracle Financials General Ledger applications
  • Demonstrable relevant consulting (system implementation, upgrades enhancement, support) or industry experience
  • Designs and implements accounting and reporting systems in a fast paced environment similar to a high tech start-up with responsibility for leading direct reports and influencing teams in a matrixed environment
  • Maintains highest standards for automation delivery, including comprehensive work intake management, portfolio prioritization, resource planning and customer / stakeholder alignment
  • Maintains highest standards for service delivery including, systems analysis, procedural documentation and incident response communication
  • Maintains knowledge base of current best practices for accounting processes, accounting applications and financial reporting architecture and design
  • Proactively identifies risks and implements mitigation plans
  • Synthesizes business requirements with technology capabilities via requirements gathering and functional application design
  • Works with a global team (employees / contractors) to support customers across multiple regions.

  • Dives deep, stays connected to details and permanently resolves issues
  • Works to improve interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting tools (HFM, Essbase, Smart View)
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA with technology / finance / accounting background preferred
  • Experience leading / managing contract resources
  • Working knowledge of Business Intelligence and ETL tools
  • Advanced reporting skills such as report development, SQL Query development
