This is an opportunity for motivated individual to join the product development team in the Powertrain & Vehicle Engineering department, delivering McLaren Automotive products to market.
Initially the primary responsibility will be supporting the engineering teams to;
Coordinate / Centralise travel, requisitions
Co-ordinate professional drivers to test needs
Standardise reporting through toolset development and methodology updates (VTC, Headcount, Weight and BOM)
Assist with the engineering release and sign off of systems and components
Principal accountabilities :
Reporting to the Director and working closely with the Heads of Departments, you will have the opportunity to learn, be involved in and own activities related to the engineering, release and delivery of components.
The primarily responsibility is to always ensure the team is adequately supported by ensuring all clerical activities related to travel, requisition raising and project reporting are covered.
Working with the core engineering teams support Travel, Requisitions and Instrumentation’;
Monitor the Powertrain & Vehicle Engineering travel budget, assist with prioritisation and become the centralised point of contact for team and travel
Become point of contact within Powertrain & Vehicle Engineering for all SAP requisitions, ensuring signoff is completed in a timely fashion
Maintain an equipment log of all instrumentation and logging equipment; ensure calibration occurs in a timely fashion
Standardise Reporting through toolset methodology and development;
Ensure Engineering groups intranet hub’ is developed & maintained
Create automated tools to maintain a dashboard for each program with critical data (VTC, BOM, Headcount, etc), Microsoft Power BI experience an asset
Working with the core engineering teams support Engineering ;
Bill of Materials and System Data analysis
Define product structure & Engineering Records
Maintain database of current design guides, Tech Specs & Test Specs.
Provide KPI tracking for engineering team.
Provide coordination and management engineering defined test plans
Knowledge, skills & experience :
Project planning and prioritisation capability.
Previous experience in an OEM or Tier 1 or equivalent, non-automotive will be considered.
Some commercial awareness, understanding of Business Case’, profit etc.
Comfortable with communication in and outside the office.
Office software skills and database usage.
Software, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering Degree advantageous. Work based equivalent will be considered.
Background in engineering design or project / product launch or implementation.
