Why this role matters

You'll individually be responsible for the commercial management and control of a number of portfolio security products and capabilities.

You will own the P&L for a capability area ensuring the delivery of revenue and the maximisation of margin to meet your EBIT target.

In this role you'll be strong and persuasive in leading direct and virtual teams to deliver GES (Group Engineering Services) commercial P&L objectives, along with providing revenue assurance through accurate forecasting and governance.

You'll become the recognised subject matter expert within GES commercial and capability team, engaging with customers at operational and senior levels to present and manage the commercial relationship for our products and services.

This role manages the day to day aspect of GES products providing pricing and presenting customer proposals that focus on revenue longevity whilst meeting customer’s needs.

What you'll be doing

The role holder will manage, own and develop a range of GES commercial areas and security products, they are fully accountable for the P&L within these areas.

They will lead virtual and direct teams who will be responsible for the win’ element of serving customers adding commercial due diligence and governance to sales, delivery and support activities.

The role holder must have sound commercial knowledge that focusses on cost reduction and margin maximisation whilst maintaining controls for strict adherence to the framework contract.

Through strong leadership, direction setting and focus the role holder will :

Be responsible for leading a number of products to optimise long-term contribution

Own the business case for in-life product and services, delivering against the P&L and other financial targets

Own and drive the product plan, price, pricing strategy, development budget and roadmap

Significantly impact driving strategic alignment planning, and own budgeting and investment, supplier relationships and cost control, quality of service, development of SoRs, management of development and launch plans, customer satisfaction

Support and driving the sales channels and marketing, work with operations and service delivery on feature enhancement, and cost reduction

Accountable for maximising the P & L and make the relevant contribution to the overall GES scorecards for existing products

Responsible for developing and delivering pricing strategies, development budget and road map, overall product strategy and integrating technical roadmaps

Lead on Business Planning activities, along with the subsequent management of costs, efficiencies and budgets associated with his / her products

Lead on commercial management activities, owning a capability area, driving revenue, sound commercial terms and cost reduction

Ensure the necessary governance is carried out and adhered to for all aspects of the work

Deliver to senior managers capability reporting and owning numbers with commentary

Resolve conflict whether its customer, sales, delivery or service issues to avoid anticipated delay

Develop new business by working with the GES Technical Consultant community to exploit new and existing technologies to optimise long-term contribution

Lead on the development of customer proposals defining the product / service offered

Define and lead on the development of support contracts incorporating the appropriate service levels and commercial agreement, providing long term sustainable growth

Providing management and leadership to indirect reports, coaching for results and sizing the team to provide excellent service

Maintains a reputation with the senior leadership team for leading product & service development activities across GES

Recognised authority on product development within the GES market, across the organisation and externally

May lead projects that go to LoB Boards or senior cross-divisional body for decision

Set direction of product & service roadmaps

Accept / Reject project developments into service

Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with senior management comfortably sharing expertise with colleagues and others

Flexible approach to working hours and location

Engagement, drive and enthusiasm in your work that naturally flows thorough your team

Exemplary internal and external customer skills (customers includes suppliers)

Be part of the commercial portfolio team contributing to team goals and responsibilities, with the ability to be a lead contributor individually and as a team member
