Job description

We are seeking a Mechanical Authorising Engineer to ensure there is sufficient Mechanical AP’s appointed in order to support Mechanical planned and reactive activates in accordance with contract specify Safe system of work procedures.

To develop and maintain strong working relationships with the engineering team, key clients, suppliers, and the

wider ISS community. Promote a positive culture with regards to energy efficiency and an attitude of right first

time.

To deliver a best-in-class Technical Operation, by driving Clarity, Consistency, Compliance & Transparency

through the deliverables to clients and colleague.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out Mechanical / Core AP initial and annual assessments
  • Carry out annual auditing of all Barclays contracted based Gas Engineers and Sub-contractors
  • Carry out annual auditing of all Barclays contracted based A / C Engineers and Sub-contractors
  • Manage Gas Responsible Mangers and Authorised Person assessments
  • Review and approve high risk CEOP Mechanical safety programmes and supporting documentation
  • Provide support and guidance to account building services Apprentices
  • Carry out annual AE audits of all sites
  • Carry out annual review of Barclays Engineering standards and Mechanical procedures
  • Deputise for Mechanical Technical Support Manager in his absence
  • Maintain accurate F-gas register on accounts OPTIMA platform
  • Produce Monthly reports for Mechanical / Core appointments and current status
  • Assist in the training and development of Site Staff.
  • To report all activity and incidents through the correct escalation process.
  • Adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act
  • HASAWA) requirements.

  • To ensure onsite Quality Assurance and Contract specify Safe system of work procedures are
  • adhered to.

  • To respond in a prompt and effective manner to all escalated Mechanical related reactive
  • maintenance issues and help desk requests.

  • To proactively work towards the growth of the contract with the aim of self-delivery of Mechanical
  • services.

  • To undertake miscellaneous duties as requested by the Client.
  • Professional and personal competencies / qualifications

  • Worked in FM / premises / property related industry.
  • Highly evolved communication / influencing skills at all levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to provide detailed reports / proposals.
  • Demonstrable experience of producing and analysing management information and providing
  • innovative solutions for evolving / improving processes.

  • A sense of urgency in responding to issues.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing service providers / contractors and internal teams.
  • Experience of managing client and supplier relationships to maintain and improve service.
  • Ability to provide effective supervisory skills to the ISS Facilities team.
  • Confidence and commitment to providing a high quality and professional service.
  • Ability to develop a good understanding of the customers’ requirements.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills ability to build and maintain rapport.

  • Current Mechanical Authorised Engineer appointment
  • Experience with carry out Mechanical AP assessment and the appointment process
  • Experienced auditing Engineers
  • Experience with commercial air conditioning installations
  • Experience with commercial gas installations
  • Mechanical Apprenticeship gained within the building maintenance industry
  • Health and Safety Training
  • GCSE (or O’ Level equivalent) passes in Maths and English or recognised equivalent
  • Experience with similar maintenance duties including fault diagnosis, rectification.
  • Experience in the general building PPM schedule
