Learning Support Assistant
I am currently working with a large and diverse 3 form entry primary school in the London borough of Hillingdon Close to West Drayton.
The school provides an impressive and modern learning environment for children, with a range of facilities to ensure a variety curriculum is supported.
The school benefits from their own playing fields and offer a range of sport and outdoor activities ensuring that academic as well as extra-curricular aspects of education are encouraged.
We are supporting them with the recruitment of an Early Years learning support assistant. Your role will involve supporting children within the EYFS across Nursery and Reception, many of the children you will be working with may have Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other SEND needs.
You will be working alongside the teacher, SENCo as well as liaising with external speech and language therapists. As well as supporting yourself in undertaking a range of targeted interventions and strategies to support with development.
You will be based within the classroom and therefore part of your role will be assisting more generally also.
This is a vital and rewarding position where you will be offering the best possible support to this child to enable them to fully access the curriculum and get the most out of their time at school, the position is for an ASAP start and is a full time-long term supply contract that can lead into a permanent position for the right applicant.
We are looking for someone with a kind nature and positive and nurturing approach to learning. Ideally you will have experience of working with young people with ASD or other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities SEND, and therefore be familiar with some of the tools and strategies to support effectively such as PECs or Makaton.
We are open to consider transferable skills and experience as the most important quality we are looking for is passion energy and a genuine desire to make a difference.
