An exciting opportunity to join an expanding and dynamic software delivery team within the Equiniti Xanite IT department, in the Equiniti Xanite business.
Equiniti Xanite build, maintain and support mission critical Share Dealing and Wealth Administration software. The EX team are based in Cardiff and this is a Cardiff based role however, project work may require occasional visits to other sites in London, Worthing and / or Crawley.
will also provide support to the existing back office software development team and help expand our current technical stack.
The role will play a key role in the development of the COBOL business logic layer in the Xanite core application. The holder of the role will use the appropriate source debuggers, visual development environments, source control and other software required to deliver all aspects of their responsibilities.
The core activities of the Xanite Software Development team are : Deliver innovative software solutions to meet the needs of both internal and external client base.
Provide technical input to the Xanite product set and ensure that the technology roadmap aligns to business strategy. Support the Equiniti business by delivering market leading technology solutions through an in depth knowledge of the markets and products that Equiniti work with.
Create a centre of excellence for development within the Equiniti Group.
Core Duties / Responsibilities
Analysing business and technical requirements. Provide work estimates based on analysed business and technical requirements.
Create appropriate documentation based on analysed business and technical requirements. Designing and writing mobile applications and supporting APIs based on appropriate / relevant documentation.
Constructing and documenting unit and system test plans. Performing unit and system testing of software changes based on written test plans.
Performing software handovers including technical and application demo. Maintaining systems by correcting software defects.
Continually updating technical knowledge / skills by attending internal and / or external courses, reading manuals and other material.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across Equiniti and Chennai and UK delivery teams.
Adherence to all Regulatory, Security and Compliance requirements.
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
Knowledge of common SDLCs and how to apply them in a delivery context. Knowledge of / experience in working with different software delivery models.
Ability to communicate about IT and technology in plain-English and in non-technical terms to colleagues and Clients. Excellent communication and distributed management skills.
Ability to work calmly and methodically when under pressure.
