Role Summary :

We are looking for a skilled SAP ABAP consultant to join our SAP technical services team. The SAP ABAP consultant is responsible for delivering development services that maintain or improve the reliability, availability and performance of Dunelm’s SAP ECC systems.

The SAP ABAP consultant will deliver secure solutions allowing users to fulfil their everyday tasks whilst ensuring the company SAP systems are protected and compliant.

You will work closely with other SAP functional and technical consultants, Enterprise Architects, Security & Compliance team, Service Desk, Tech and business colleagues

What you’ll do

  • Design and implement best practice ABAP solutions appropriate to business requirements and standards
  • Undertake and / or oversee SAP development for SAP implementations and upgrades
  • Collaborate with internal SAP tech services team, Tech and Digital teams, and other business stakeholders to undertake and / or oversee day to day delivery of SAP development initiatives, support, bug fixingand maintenance activities ensuring all SLAs for system reliability, availability and performance (NFR) are achieved
  • Undertake and / or oversee the identification of root causes of any development issues that impact the business processes and lead the implementation of improvements as required
  • Undertake and / or oversee SAP development performance improvements including monitoring and custom code life cycle
  • Support and utilise shared services provided by other services teams
  • Essential Skills & Experience

  • Ideally SAP ABAP certified or equivalent
  • Solid ABAP programming experience and best practices knowledge
  • Strong awareness of SAP modules
  • Experience of IDOC / SAPScript / Smart Forms / BAPIs / RFC / interfaces / User Exists / BADI / Enhancement Spots
  • Exposure to IS Retail
  • Good knowledge of ECC 6.0 Netweaver
  • Appreciation of ABAP & Java Stack technical admin
  • CTS and CTS+ & transport management appreciation
  • Issue investigation and resolution including OSS message handling
  • Demonstrate willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing work priorities
  • Proven ability in relationship building and influencing skills
  • Experience of working with business stakeholders at all levels across the business
  • Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Working to tight deadlines and at pace
  • Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills
  • Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Transport Express (AC) experience
  • Exposure to Agile / Kanban delivery methodology
  • Appreciation of Solution Manager tools
  • PI / PO knowledge
