About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join LMUK Ampthill, in a key role for the business. As Software Engineering Lead you will be empowered to make a difference in one of the top 10 defence companies in the world and will deliver critical programmes of national importance.
We require a talented Software Engineering Lead to join the Software Engineering team at Lockheed Martin, Ampthill. You will have worked on programmes through the full Software Engineering Lifecycle, with focus on leading the Design, Implementation and Unit Testing aspects of developing a software product
requirements analysis, software design, implementation, and software testing and will be required to support integration and test activities.
You will be expected apply your knowledge of computer systems and software engineering best practice to help lead a team of software developers of various levels and be responsible for ensuring software compliance standards are met by the application of appropriate processes, procedures and tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
You will be expected to be knowledgeable and proficient in the application of a wide range of software engineering practices and will display a proactive and innovative approach to leading the development of complex technical solutions to difficult customer problems.
You will be responsible for assisting with accurate estimating / planning and will be expected to manage the team's workloads effectively to ensure that project milestones are met.
The position will be full-time within the existing team developing cutting edge Ground Based Air Defence and Automated Sense & Warn software solutions for the UK MoD.
The position requires solid software development knowledge, strong technical leadership and team leadership skills and an understanding of the software development lifecycle.
