The role of the Land Communications and Force Protection Campaign Manager involves extensive interaction with customers and stakeholders in order to develop and secure annual order intake, meet demanding annual Integrated Business Plan (IBP) sales targets as well as identifying, promoting and winning new business.
You will be responsible for engaging closely with customers, end-users, platform manufacturers and integrators in both the UK and overseas.
Whilst desirable to be based at Basildon, other base locations such as Southampton and Bristol will be considered alongside custom working (home working) options

What you will do :
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, identifying and winning business in order to :
Identify and forecast opportunities in the five year Integrated Business Plan (IBP). Secure order intake to meet forecast targets for current and future years in line with the IBP by managing and delivering a portfolio of campaigns and sales opportunities.
Identify and create opportunities for future sales / growth.
Work closely as part of an Integrated Campaign Team (ICT) and Integrated Project Team (IPT) in order to contribute effectively to new Business Winning activities.
Present detailed prospects to Business Winning Reviews in order to secure pursuit, bid and resourcing approvals.
Develop bespoke Win Themes and Win Strategies, carry out competitor analysis to generate and justify the Price to Win’ for individual campaigns.
Effectively lead the campaign team through to Contract Award (CA).
Develop and maintain relationships with customers, end users and Industrial Partners.
Develop and maintain close relationships with key internal stakeholders including the immediate Business Area and wider Business Winning functions.
Utilise company Business Winning Approach and apply skills, knowledge and experience to ensure that opportunities are identified, tracked, accurately reported and secured.
Effective management and utilisation of resources, including bid funding, to prosecute campaigns and opportunities.
Provide input to and support for marketing & communications (MarComms) including shows, exhibitions, demonstrations, conferences
Assist in the preparation of private venture (PV) investment business cases to develop new capabilities.

An in-depth understanding of Tactical Soldier radio systems; mounted and dismounted communications systems (HF, VHF and UHF).
An in-depth understanding of Counter Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (C-RCIED) and ECM systems and ConOps for Force Protection and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), ideally through commercial or operational experience as an end user / operator or by having previous technical experience in the domain.
Ideally have an existing and relevant network within the key customer stakeholder community in the UK and overseas.
Effective Team Working
Ideally have a demonstrable record of success in developing, managing and leading significant sales campaigns within the defence, aerospace or other comparable sectors.
Innovative thinker and disciplined self-starter able to anticipate and overcome problems in a complex international sales environment.
Commercially and financially aware, with experience of negotiating and closing complex deals in the international marketplace.
Knowledge of international trade compliance regulations and export control procedures.
Excellent communications skills, capable of confidently briefing to senior stakeholders across industry, government and the military.
Able to write compelling marketing content and proposals.

Able to lead a team to successfully deliver quality output during high pressure bid and customer response activity.
