Development Planning Assistant

£10.28 per hour

Pertemps are recruiting for a temporary Development Planning assistant for a temporary contract.

Key Responsibilities and Knowledge

  • Provide effective administrative and business support to the team.
  • Maintain business information systems (hard copy and electronic) including the planning IT system.
  • Enter application data accurately onto the planning data management systems.
  • Produce information from IT systems.
  • Handle and respond to basic customer inquiries..
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Customer focused with effective communication skills and good telephone manner
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload and deliver results to timescales.
  • Word processing, Spreadsheets. Database, GIS, mapping, and e-mail applications in windows environment
  • What you will do

  • You will provide a range of administrative or business support that provides information and supports the activities of the function.
  • You will gather, collect, check, validate and accurately record data for the use by others.
  • You will undertake work and tasks that has the potential to impact on third parties if inaccurate or incorrect.
  • You will follow an agreed plan of work, prioritising tasks when appropriate.
  • You will resolve problems that arise by applying initiative and judgement.
  • You will take responsibility for the safe and effective use of equipment and information.
  • You will provide guidance to new or temporary employees.
  • Who you will be working with

  • You will work with colleagues carrying out similar and different aspects of the work, which may include leading on some specific tasks requiring you to give clear guidance or instruction to others.
  • You will have contact with the general public and third parties to provide and exchange information.
  • Where you will be working

  • Your role will be primarily office based but may entail travel between different locations, as well as working at partner organisations and other premises.
  • What knowledge and skills you need

  • You will have previous practical work experience and gained a reasonable level of administrative competence.
  • You will be able to understand and follow policies and procedures.
  • You will have good communication, literacy, numeracy and IT skills and an understanding of health and safety requirements and the implications in relation to work activity.
