Senior Manager, Planning (Fixed Term Contract March 2022)

  • About the Role :

    The Senior Manager, Logistics has responsibility for all activities related to supply chain planning, inventory planning, Production Scheduling and capacity management of GW’s drug supply chain, including stock management for both R+D and Commercial supply,The post holder will be expected to deputise for the Supply Chain Director and represent all KSP SC functions at appropriate meetings.

    Responsibilities include key activities relating to understanding and co-ordination all aspects of information flow relating to demand and supply for the various areas of the business ensuring seamless product supply.

    The role will also be pivotal in maintaining positive relationships with Commercial entities, both internal and external to GW

    Key Responsibilities :

    Management, Leadership and oversight of all KSP supply and capacity operations, including GW personal and facilitiesEffective leadership and management of end to end materials supply chain planning and execution for the business, ensuring efficient, safe and smooth operations i.

    e. Master production Scheduling (MPS)Factory planning and manufacturing and testing work-flow scheduling including weekly schedules, daily accountability boards, communication to customers of planned deliveries, minimising waste and material write off due to expired stockManagement of supply issues / recallsSetting performance management targets to appropriate customer service / supply chain KPI’sSupporting controlled drugs reporting where applicableLiaise with R&D and Production teams to effectively manage capacity / product supply this will include CMO API manufacturers and Drug Product suppliers of GW productsLiaison with external Regulatory Authority and Legislative bodies for supply matters where appropriateResponsibility for ensuring appropriate arrangements in place for compliance to the Single Convention on Narcotics Drugs and country estimate requirements (via the INCB)Management of capital and operational expenditure budgeting associated with supply managementDirection, motivation, development and engagement of Supply Chain planning teamPartner with internal stakeholder groups on sourcing and new suppliers and ensuring no supply interruptionsNew product introduction planningThe job holder is responsible for maintaining cGxP and H&S knowledge applicable to the jobResponsible for the overall health, safety, security and environmental protection in matters and personal relating to supply chain planningAct as company technical / SME in all operational aspects of Supply Chain planning

    Detailed Responsibilities :

    Responsible for developing and effectively managing the planning processes associated with the effective delivery of customer service.

    Will engage at an appropriate level with a diverse range of external stakeholders to predict, plan and satisfy requirements arising to ensure complete supply chain success.

    Ensure appropriate measurement and target setting of key supply chain performance areas supply chain delivery, including OTIF, working capital, new product introduction / launch planning etc.

    Identify areas of risk and inefficiency within the GW supply chain planning activities and to recommend and implement appropriate solutions to address.

    Meet and communicate regularly with external partners and stakeholder groups as necessary to ensure healthy working relationships, quick problem resolution and high service levels.

    Lead the performance of the Supply Chain planning team staff ensuring appropriate levels of support, feedback, training, coaching and development as needed.

    Provide appropriate levels of direction, guidance and steering to direct reports and team members within the Supply Chain planning team and to ensure succession planning and development plans are in place.

    Functional leadership of the supply chain planning activities.Actively participate in relevant GW management forums to lead and shape supply performance.

    Promote a H&S aware culture and the reporting of all H&S near misses and lead by example.Manage costs within the Supply Chain planning team and ensuring effective control of department costs including the generation of cost saving opportunities including cost to serve where influenced by supply chain planning.

    Ensure all supply chain planning activities are undertaken in accordance with GMP, international shipping requirements and those relevant to the international border movement of Controlled Drugs.

    To communicate with external, government, legislative and regulatory bodies (e.g. DEA / FDA / MHRA / HO / INCB) in an appropriate manner, always professionally representing GW.

    Develop a working environment that promotes continuous improvement, the elimination of operational wastes within the supply chain and efficient and customer orientated ways of working.

    Undertake such duties as deemed reasonable and necessary to support changing needs of the business.To lead and participate in project teams as necessary to achieve the company goals and objectives.

    To support and lead any crisis management events at KSP.To set and manage overall performance to company Supply Chain planning targets and KPI’s and to lead company activities in reducing cost and risk within the companies Supply Chain.

    Ensure safe systems of work are in place with regards to health & safety, security and the environment.Carries out their work in a way that will not adversely affect their own, or others’, health, safety and security or the environment and reports any shortcomings in GW arrangements.

    Essential Skills :

    Strong familiarity with the management requirements of Controlled Drug suppliesProfessionally qualified / equivalent experience in relevant technical fieldCommercially astuteExperience at maintaining operational standards to FDA and MHRA regulatory requirementsAccumulated pharmaceutical industry exposure typically 10+ yearsUnderstand UK / international requirements for the governance of Controlled Drugs in compliance to Home Office and INCB standardsGraduate calibre employeeGDP and cool-chain expertExcellent computer literacy coupled with strong knowledge of IVRS, MRP / ERP and WM systemsExcellent communication skills both oral, written, formal report writing and presentationalStrong knowledge of EHS

    Desirable :

    Previous experience contributing as part of site leadership teamsExperienced lean and CI tools and techniques practitionerPrevious external (and internal) audit experienceExperience of managing manufacturing operationsExperience of relevant vendor management programmesPrevious experience of setting and managing performance to financial budgets
