Job Description

We now have a fantastic opportunity on a 12 month fixed term contract basis for a Legal Advisor to join our Legal Services team to provide accurate, initial legal advice and assistance to our RAC and corporate partner customers by telephone and in writing on a range of private law matters, offering positive resolutions over the phone, including policy application and guidance on all products provided by and / or serviced by RAC Legal Services.

As part of our team, you will provide legal advice to a number of prestigious corporate partners, including many well-known brands across the insurance, banking and financial services sectors, as well as offering access to advice and support to over 2 million of our own members.

This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the most recognised brands in the UK, whilst using your experience and expertise to support all customers calling in us for legal advice.

  • This role will require you to work from the Bristol office on a full time basis *
  • Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver accurate policy application and guidance to all clients, colleagues and partners
  • Ensure the provision of advice includes accurate policy application and guidance on all products / policies provided by and / or serviced by RAC LS.
  • Ensure all calls are handled in accordance with Advisory call matrix and business objectives.
  • All calls and associated activities are logged and / or time recorded on the relevant case management systems.
  • Maintain excellent technical knowledge in level of expertise
  • Ensure escalated complaints relating to advice and assistance provided from Advisory are resolved within set service level time frames to ensure customer satisfaction levels are met.
  • Support the work of the department through delivery of training, administrative duties such as keying and collation of information and undertaking legal research.
  • Ensure your work conforms to standards set by the Financial Conduct Authority, Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation and / or regulatory bodies
  • Salary will be dependent upon experience but as a minimum you’ll be a Law graduate (LLB and post graduate qualification eg.

    LLM, LPC / LSF or BVC) and / or equivalent legal / insurance qualification or have allied industry gained work experience.

    You’ll also have demonstrable expertise in providing advice in all core foundation areas of law; contract, civil litigation, tort, personal injury and statutory liability.

    We are looking for candidates who can advise in either employment or property. You’ll also have previous experience of working in customer facing or call centre environment along with excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.

    If you have demonstrable expertise in providing all aspects of motoring law and its related fields such as motor insurance, criminal motor etc.

    or can demonstrate a strong working knowledge in any of the advanced core areas of Employment, Property, Family or Wills & Probate law this would be highly advantageous.
