Teaching Assistant - Year 2 Support

Teaching Personnel are currently working with a Mainstream Primary School in North Liverpool, Croxteth, who are searching for an experienced Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to work with Year 2 pupils with Special Educational Needs on a full time basis.

The school has a Nurture Base, which is where you would be based working with the pupils to provide additional support with their learning and other various skillsets.

The pupils are working at a much lower level and also are non-verbal, so the ideal Teaching Assistant will have experience working or supporting children or adults with speech and language impairments with similar needs.

Training in this would be desireable.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will be positive, enthusiastic and have good knowledge of working with children with SEN.

You will be working with the pupils during class times, break times and also on a 1-1 basis to run interventions and booster sessions.

The Role :

  • Full time, Monday - Friday
  • Hours : 8 : 30am - 3 : 10pm
  • £10 - £11 Per hour
  • Mainstream Primary School
  • Year 2 Support

    The tasks which a SEN TA carries out can include :

  • Preparing materials, equipment and lessons
  • Assessing the individual learning needs of pupils
  • Evaluating and reporting pupils’ progress to teachers, carers, healthcare professionals and anybody else who helps them
  • Positively managing challenging behaviour and dealing with difficult situations
  • Liaising with parents, carers and other professionals who work with the pupils
  • Supervising activities such as trips locally.

    All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
