About the role :
To develop and lead a new design studio concept and team members with the objectives to transform Thames Water’s learning offerings from a traditional face to face training method to a fully blended suite of training solutions.
Ensuring that all learning meets the needs of all learners, taking into consideration learning styles, technical capability and business priorities to develop high quality best in class blended training.
Ensuring that training solutions are enhancing self-development and ownership in line with the 70 / 20 / 10 model.
Overseeing the creative design and development of material by team members and external contracts, if required, to deliver a range of training solutions and knowledge management offerings.
Designing and managing an effective process to take a business requirement into the best fit learning solution.
Working within predefined design principles and considering employee and business impact whilst ensuring delivering within budget allocation.
Reviewing current and future training development requests from learning consultants and business stakeholders to develop and implement a blended learning roadmap and project plan to deliver requirements in an agreed timely manner.
Challenging and offering alternative solutions as required.
Creating a learner lead organisation promoting work based, collaborative and social learning.
Overseeing the enhancements to the LMS Platform Learning on Tap to ensure meeting current and future requirements.
Objectives will include :
Providing best in class, cost effective training in line with business prioritiesConsidering ROI of all training interventions and challenging the need for formal training v alternative methodsTransform learning to a 70 / 20 / 10 model moving away from traditional fact to face learning but supporting managers and employees to develop in the workplace in line with competency frameworks and training requirementsCreate and implement blended learning principles to be incorporate to all learning solutionsUse a range of technologies and solutions to develop a learning lead culture of self-development, continuous learning and developmentDevelop communities of practice and knowledge management principles to encourage a you find rather than we tell methodology
Develop a buy v build assessment process to understand the capabilities of current team
Recommending and delivering the correct solution for the need, the business and in line with learning budgetReview current requests to identify learning solutions and priorities and feed into road map.
Creating a realistic blended learning plan and challenging non effective learning solutions.Work with relevant learning consultants and SME’s to scope requirements and develop learning solutionsCommunicate blended learning plan and report on progress against roadmap / project planImplement evaluation and ROI process for learning solution in line with LMS functionality
