Sensat builds digital simulations of the real world to solve complex problems. Our simulated reality platform, Mapp® allows companies operating in physical domains to visually interact with and understand their data.

These digital recreations allow computers to interact and understand’ the real world, we apply 2D and 3D object recognition and classification techniques, using frameworks like TensorFlow.

The role

As Full Stack Engineer, you will help build Sensat’s platform, Mapp®. You’ll be responsible for designing and building core functionality into our product.

As well as improve the way users interact with 2D and 3D spatial data on cloud platforms. You’ll work in an agile, cross-functional team to build elegant, scalable solutions that solve our customer’s problems.

We are looking for a bright, driven creative individual with demonstrable knowledge of both frontend and back end technologies.

We work with a MEAN stack (Mongo, Express, Angular, NodeJS) and TypeScript across the front and back end. However, we’re not limiting you to these technologies and we are open to a broad skill range.

What you’ll do

  • You will have a significant individual impact on our core technology
  • Whilst we aren't quite building from scratch, we are looking for someone that is excited to build the early stage product
  • You’ll work on complex problems that have a direct tangible impact on the real world
  • Building and scaling services and infrastructure to handle billions of points for 2D and 3D representations of the real world, and hundreds of concurrent platform users
  • Integrating CAD, GIS and collaboration services with our Mapp® product
  • Integrate dynamic data from IoT sensors into the Mapp OS® platform
  • What You'll Bring

  • Ideally, you will be experienced with Typescript, Angular, NodeJS and have worked with backend technologies such as Python, Go, C++, Scala etc
  • Experience with complex data processing workflows, ideally with asynchronous processes
  • Knowledge of building integrations with other software and services (eg CAD)
  • Experience of working with large distributed systems
  • The ability to design and implement new APIs
  • Ability to productively participate in discussions with Product management in defining and prioritising new feature
  • Bonus point for exposure to web-based 3D libraries like Three.JS and WebGL, and geospatial libraries such as OpenLayers and Leaflet
