Team Members are crucial to the success of our business. This role is a fast paced customer focused position that requires all applicants to work from the store that they have successfully applied for, 25 hours per week for the 6 month duration of employment.

You will be required to work 25 hours a week over a 4 or 5 day period. This will be dependent on the availability of our in store trainers and the store's requirements.

The pace of our business changes over different periods so we ask all of our staff to be as flexible as possible. All of our employees are required to work over Sales and Peak trading periods and this can sometimes require earlier starts or the occasional later finish.

Across the store we have different areas for our Team Members to explore and you will be given an insight into them all - Salesfloor, Stock (online support from store) and Delivery.

The most important part of what we do is offer AMAZING service to our customers and make sure they have a good experience in all of our stores.

Excellent Stock Operations

Sets up work areas and gets stock ready to be sold to the customer Scans stock to identify where it needs to go

Puts stock in the correct place on the shopfloor and in the stockroom Reacts to overstocked bars and stock in the wrong place

Locates stock quickly to keep the floors full and meet customer demand Maintains clean and tidy stockrooms to keep faulty and destroyed stock to a minimum

Transfers stock out quickly and accurately so it is perfectly packed and in a customer ready condition

This is not an exhaustive list and at times you may be asked to take on additional responsibilities.

Next Retail is a fashion and Home store with an online service. Next operates nationally and internationally.


Previous customer service experience or experience of being in a people focused environment is desirable, but NOT essential.

Has a passion to Learn. This will sometimes mean using your initiative and taking responsibility for your own development.

Any employee of Next is made aware of the importance of attendance and timekeeping throughout the Welcome Induction and Welcome training.

We highlight the impacts that it has on the team and further detailed information can be accessed through the NEP (Next Employee Portal).

Every employee will also receive regular reviews which is a great opportunity for our Team Members to discuss any issues with their managers or be given the necessary support regarding Time and Attendance where necessary.

We will follow our usual process for managing absences, attendance and sickness.

All of our employees will spend time working and growing with our Team Coaches. Team Coaches are store based and are with new starters every step of the way.

We will support and encourage them in the role to become a confident communicator to both colleagues and customers, our Kickstart employees will also receive 1-2-1 support from The Princes Trust Wraparound' service.

Retail Trust

Kickstart employees will receive a full 6 months of development through Next and TPT. We will develop them in the Team Member job role and if they think a career in retail is for them, they will be given an opportunity to work through our Coordinator Programme which is the first step to a career in Retail Management.

These jobs are permanent, full and part time positions and will give the employees the confidence to apply for sustainable job prospects after the 6 month development period.
